Plastic bottle door stopper, step-by-step master class.

1. Fill the prepared bottle with small stones or sand. By the way, select the volume of the bottle yourself, depending on what size you want the door stop. I used a 0.33 liter bottle.

2. Create a hole in the bottle cap; you can use a knife, awl or self-tapping screw. It seemed to me that it copes with the task perfectly - the self-tapping screw, just screw it in the center of the lid, when the hole becomes suitable for threading the tape (the future stopper handle), unscrew the screw back.

3. We paint the bottle and lid with spray paint, leave to dry for about 30 minutes.

4. Decorate the bottle with threads, wrap the entire central part of the painted container. The winding can be done randomly, or you can neatly thread to thread. I am more impressed by the first version of the decor. We fix the ends of the thread with PVA glue (do not fix it for a moment, it corrodes the paint), it is completely invisible after drying.

6. We proceed to decorate with rhinestones, in my case decorative carnations, with the legs previously removed. Moment, scatter them over the entire surface of the bottle, i.e. not only in the central part of the product, where we wrapped the threads, but also closer to the bottom and neck. Finally, the product can be coated with a layer of clear varnish if desired.

Stoppers - these structures must rigidly fix the canvas at a certain point. The most prominent representative of stoppers can be called a well-known chain;
Cover plates - prevent the door from completely slamming, leaving a small gap between the jamb and the door leaf;
Latches are, in fact, a type of lock, the latch fixes the door in the closed state. There is still no consensus among experts on whether to classify latches as locks or still to stops;
A closer - as a rule, this is an entrance door opening limiter. The direct purpose of the closer is to ensure smooth closing of the doors, but there are models that allow the door to be fixed open at a certain point.

Many modern door closers can be adjusted locally.

Despite the variety of terms and the countless number of models, all these designs are divided into 3 fundamental areas:

Floor-mounted limiters;
Wall-mounted limiters;
Limiters installed on the door itself.

Floor models

A floor stopper for a door is perhaps the most reliable option, because the floor is static, it will not go anywhere, plus the price of most floor models, as a rule, does not "get out" beyond 200 rubles.

The color of the permanently fixed support-post should be in harmony with the overall design.

Metal bumpers are stationary stops that are rigidly attached to the floor. The height of such a stop ranges from 3 to 7 cm, the average cylinder diameter is 20 - 30 mm. In order not to "cripple" the door on the post there is a groove with a rubber or polyurethane seal.

With proper installation, the column itself does not threaten anything, the seals will have to be changed periodically. In the residential area of an apartment or a private house, it is better not to put the columns, as it is easy to trip over them, but as a limiter for opening the front door, the column fits perfectly.

When choosing such a column, it is better to give preference to shiny and contrasting models. They are at least visible from afar and it is less likely that a person will stumble.

The semicircular door opening stop looks like a quarter-cut ball with a shock-absorbing pad. There is no fundamental difference in the operation of posts and semicircular stops, but when installing the latter, the installation angle must be taken into account so that the door leaf contacts the rubber gasket, and does not hit the metal.

A door stop equipped with a magnet is a more functional design. A small magnet is built into the head of the stationary stop, and a counter metal plate is attached to the door, as a result, the door leaf is fixed when it comes into contact with the stop.

Such devices have proven themselves especially well on the front doors of offices, administrative buildings and shops, in general, wherever a simple retainer can pop out due to carelessness or from a gust of wind.

A spring stop is a good solution for temporarily fixing the door leaf.

The design solution is ingeniously simple: on both sides of the flexible steel plate, synthetic anti-slip "hedgehogs" are fixed; you just need to bend the plate slightly and slide it under the doors.

Such a device is well suited for temporarily securing doors, for example, if you need to bring in furniture. With this stop, even if the door moves from an accidental push, the expensive laminate or parquet floor will remain intact.

The tapered retainer is the simplest solution to the problem.

Wedge-shaped, or as they are also called, mobile clamps are now made of different synthetic materials, but in fact they are the same wooden wedges that our grandfathers inserted under the doors, only the outer surroundings have changed. While synthetics should be given their due, such a door stop does not slide on the floor.

Wall models

The beauty is that if we are talking about wooden or plastic doors, then you only need a screwdriver to attach such a limiter, and in some cases you can do with one glue. Plus the walls and floor will remain intact.

In hinged metal stops, the base plate is screwed to the door leaf with self-tapping screws, but during installation, you need to be careful about setting the angle of inclination of the limiter relative to the floor, an acute angle can cause a breakdown of the mechanism. The optimum slope is around 45º.

In addition, when choosing, it is better to give preference to mechanisms that have a folding spring, they are much more reliable.

Folding metal door stop.

The tape stop can be safely called a symbol of simplicity. On both sides of the strong tape, pads for self-tapping screws are attached, you just need to screw these pads to the doors and the jamb.

True, the appearance of this limiter leaves much to be desired, plus such tapes are frayed or torn quite quickly.

It is possible to cut the stopper out of wood, but this material may not be able to handle the stresses of a constantly opening door. Such a figurine must be covered with several layers of durable parquet lacquer.

Soft door stops

The soft stopper can be sewn from any fabric and can be decorated with bows, beads and buttons.

The figurine of such a restraint can be any animal or figure. They are sewn from any fabric. No special tools are needed for installation, and for sewing you will need an almost standard set:

tracing paper;
fabrics;
synthetic fluff, holofiber;
pencil or fabric marker;
threads to match;
sewing machine;
threads in color;
scissors;
tailor's pins;
weighting agent;
accessories for decorating the stopper.

The pattern is transferred to tracing paper or drawn directly on it. The size, as a rule, does not exceed 40 cm, but you should not do much less, since it will be difficult for such a figure to cope with its duties. All details are cut from tracing paper and applied to the fabric. The figurine can be solid, but the ears and tail, and sometimes the paws, are often sewn onto the animals. This gives freedom in tailoring and sometimes saves fabric.

All parts, including the torso, legs, ears and tail, are paired. If you cut them out of fabrics of different shades, the figurine will have more liveliness and it will look more interesting. To cut the pieces evenly, they are pinned to the fabric with pins before chalked around. When cutting, remember about seam allowances, which should be at least 1.5 cm. Paired parts are folded with the right sides and grinded with small stitches on a sewing machine, leaving an area for turning the part out and stuffing it.

Patterns of soft restraints represent a typical body with a curled tail, and the head can be of any animal.

Ears, paws and tail, if available, are completely filled with synthetic soft filler and temporarily set aside, since they are sewn to the already finished body at the very last turn. The body as a weighting agent is stuffed with sand or small even stones, which will take about 300 g. the sand did not spill out, you can put it inside tied in several sealed plastic bags. They do the same with pebbles. It is better to choose stones without sharp corners, as they can tear the fabric and damage the door or wall during the operation of the soft stopper.

The remaining free space inside is tightly filled with synthetic filler, then the filling hole is carefully sewn up with small blind stitches. Paws, ears and tail are sewn into place, if any. The figurine of the animal can be additionally decorated with a scarf, collar or bell on the neck. Everyone decorates the muzzles of animals as he wishes, sewing on beads, buttons or drawing eyes, nose and mouth.

The finished soft stopper can be hung on the door handle, in this case, it must be large enough to take up space greater than the distance from the door leaf to the end of the door handle.

Step 1... Decide on the approximate parameters of the stopper that you will be doing. Make sure that the selected piece of board fits your specifications. Start building a concrete mold from Lego pieces.

Step 2... Mix the concrete solution in the prepared container. It should be similar in consistency to shortbread dough.

Step 3... On the desktop, fix the shape of Lego blocks with clamps, prudently sending a piece of board or plastic to the bottom of it.

Step 4... Pour the concrete mortar into the prepared mold. You can create vibrations for better shrinkage using a conventional sander. Just hold it against the wall of the mold and turn it on for a short period of time.

Step 5... Take a block of wood and a curved bolt. Place the bolt with the ends in the concrete solution, and so that it does not fall into it, send a block under the resulting handle. Adjust the workpiece to the height of the handle. Leave everything until the concrete has completely hardened.

Step 6... Using needle-nose pliers, disassemble the mold of the Lego blank.

Step 7... Smooth sharp corners using a sander, sandpaper or sanding block.

Step 8... Let the concrete piece dry thoroughly within two weeks. In the meantime, adjust the piece of board that will be sent to the base of the stopper to the specified parameters. Sand it and treat it with wood stain, wax or varnish.

Step 9... To seal the concrete and give it a better appearance, cover the workpiece with an appropriate material. This is a mandatory step for street side stoppers.

Step 10... Glue the concrete top of the stopper to the wood base. To do this, use epoxy glue. Until the adhesive is completely dry, send the workpiece under a press from clamps and pieces of board. A wooden base is needed to prevent the concrete from scratching the floors.

Even more budgetary - we collect sand or stones on the street with children or with a young man. True, the stones should be washed, the sand should be calcined in the oven, otherwise…. cats, dogs ... ..you understand.

Sew the details along the perimeter, leaving the narrow one side not sewn. Can be overcast with a zigzag. Turned out, ironed out the seams.

Next, you need to sew in a zipper. Yes Yes. I have blue lightning. And not because I am color blind, but because I had one. And we sculpt beauty from improvised means? well ... that's why the lightning is blue. The main thing is to sew it in deeper and no one will see it. Of course, you can go to specialized stores, buy everything in color and suit. But ... I don't have enough time, therefore, as I always say - "We work with what we have!"

The older child drags like a dumbbell and plays with a stopper "in the towns" in the corridor. The second stopper "bag with gifts" was sewn in an hour, probably in total. The fabric is cotton and the lining is linen. Two rectangles - 25x42 cm + allowances. Two circles with a diameter of 13 + allowances. We sew a bag-bag, we sew the bottom for the outer cover and for the lining. You can sew without lining, but with it the look is much more interesting. The heart and twine ties were spied somewhere. The filling is the same pearl barley. 1 kilo. In fact, you can make it smaller, the bag will be tighter and keep its shape better.
