What can be cooked from squid: fast and tasty
In the cold season, a continuous process of centralized heating of residential buildings, administrative and industrial buildings is launched. Despite the simplicity of the heating mechanism, high-quality stainless pipes are required to ensure efficiency. Due to the use of a steel grade that is not susceptible to corrosion, these products are durable and reliable.
Types of stainless pipes for heating
According to the manufacturing method given type rolled metal happens:
- welded,
- seamless,
- thin-walled
- thick-walled.
All stainless pipes are produced according to existing quality standards, are controlled and tested. Heating with seamless products is the most reasonable option. After all, the process of trouble-free operation increases many times in comparison with the service life of a stainless steel pipe with a seam. For the heating system, a thin-walled version of the product is perfect. It is also the most cost effective solution.
Features of the use of stainless pipes for heating
Thinking about buying this product, do not forget about its relatively high cost. After all, a stainless steel pipe is made from expensive steel grades. Also in the production process, additional surface treatment is used. Therefore, the use of stainless steel pipes for heating is not always the most economical option. Its most important advantage is its long service life. Stainless steel pipe is also widely used in drinking water supply systems. The corrosion-resistant alloy is harmless to humans.
The company "Verna-SK" is engaged in the sale of pipes of the highest quality, both for industrial enterprises and for private clients. Optimal price conditions and a high level of service - that's what distinguishes us from competitors.
The corrugated type of pipes for heating is very popular today. Made of corrosion-resistant steel grades, they are distinguished not only by quality, but also by ease of installation. To connect pipes of this type is not needed welding machine and sophisticated tools. Their advantages in the installation of heating systems are obvious. Corrugated pipe is flexible and strong, durable and reliable.
With the help of this type of rolled metal, not only the main network is mounted, but also its other sections:
- plumbing to radiators
- risers,
- nodes of intersection and wiring.
A large number of pipes are used for the manufacture of compact heating batteries. After all, steel products are supplied with different parameters: diameter, wall thickness, length. Electrowelded and seamless pipes are produced according to the following standards:
- straight-seam water and gas pipe - GOST 3262-75,
- seamless - GOST 8731-78 and GOST 8732-78.
The stainless steel pipe has a number of undeniable advantages compared to similar products made of ordinary steel. For all questions about ordering products, you can contact the specialists of the company "Verna-SK". Our price lists for pipes are constantly supplemented with new positions.

Pipes for heating from of stainless steel are increasingly viewed by consumers as the most promising, though not a budget option for the arrangement of the heating system of your home. Due to the properties of the material, such pipes are not susceptible to corrosion - the main enemy of the lines responsible for delivering heat to homes. Once laid pipes from s / s - with the correct conduct of all installation work- will not require repair for many decades. What ferrous metal pipes cannot boast of, which begin to partially leak already 5-7 years after the start of operation.
Characteristics of stainless steel heating pipes
Welded stainless steel pipe. (made stainless steel pipe bending)
Having decided to purchase stainless steel heating pipes, the consumer is faced with three market proposals:
- welded pipes made of s/s,
- seamless,
- corrugated.
Seamless steel pipes
Pipes of what type, diameter, thickness are suitable in your case, determine, taking into account:
- the budget allocated for the purchase of rolled metal products;
- the nature of the loads to which the heating system will be subjected;
- the specifics of external influences on the future line;
- technical features facility where pipe laying work is planned;
- system configuration;
- pressure indicators;
- temperature indicators.
Corrugated steel pipes
So for gravity systems, pipes with a wide diameter are needed.

Why stainless steel is better than other materials
- It is not susceptible to moisture, which prevents the development of corrosive processes inside the pipes and on their outer side.
- No corrosion inside the pipes, ensures the preservation chemical properties passing through the water system. This significantly extends the life of motors installed in systems with forced pressure.
- The introduction of an increased amount of chromium into the stainless steel alloy makes the material resistant not only to moisture, but to aggressive substances, for example, 50% hydrochloric acid.
- Stainless steel is resistant to mechanical stress.
- Seamless stainless steel pipes are particularly resistant to high pressure. Even when there is emergency at the substation and the resulting water hammer, the surface of the heating system with stainless steel pipes will not lose tightness.
- Material saves specifications under the influence of typical temperatures, does not change properties when the temperature of the surrounding space changes.
Rolled metal for heating systems made of stainless steel
- resistant to corrosion, aggressive chemical environments;
- immune to the influence of temperature changes;
- withstand high pressure.
According to the method of producing stainless steel pipes, they are divided into hot-rolled and cold-rolled.
Stainless steel pipes have many advantages, therefore they are resistant to many damages.
According to the technique of processing the outer surface are divided into:
- matte,
- polished,
- mirror.
Welded rolled metal from stainless steel for heating is produced from sheet steel. The presence of a seam on such pipes is their “weak link”, since it creates, albeit a meager, but a prerequisite for future leaks at the junction of the edges with each other.
As in the case of welded, seamless are connected with the involvement of welding. On the one hand, this creates the prerequisites for leaks - in the future (subject to poor-quality welding of joints), on the other hand, it does not always suit home owners - if the installation / replacement of the system is carried out in a residential building with expensive repairs in the premises. In this case, if the owners want to install heating with pipes that have the longest possible service life, they can recommend corrugated pipes.
Corrugated pipes for heating from stainless steel are a relatively recent achievement of the industry, which appeared thanks to the efforts of Japanese technologists.
Such pipes are made from steel tape, which is then molded under high temperatures (up to 1150 degrees)
Corrugated pipes have the longest service life
In addition to technical qualities similar to the performance characteristics of conventional pipes for heating from the same material, they have a unique property - they can be bent without the involvement of additional equipment (Bending R determines the diameter of the pipe). This allows:
- reduce the cost and reduce the duration of installation work - there is no need to use welding
- reduce the cost of purchasing connecting elements for "warm floor" systems.
Why is the installation of pipes "accordion" cheaper and easier?
to the menuCons of pipes from n / with "accordion"
- can not compete with seamless or welded in resistance to special high temperatures;
- amenable to mechanical stress (because of this, they are not recommended to be placed in children's bedrooms and playrooms);
- may lose their tightness under the influence of some alkalis and acids (can not be installed in rooms where there is a possibility of aggressive chemicals getting on the surface of the heating system).
Installation of corrugated heating pipes is easy

Outcome
When arranging the heating system at home, wanting to insure as much as possible against pipe leaks in the future, it is advisable to use pipes made of stainless steel. When laying the line in a newly built house with outstanding decorative and finishing work, you can fearlessly weld pipes with the involvement of welding. And remember, a quality stainless steel pipe, the price of which does not exceed the market price, will be the most acceptable. If you choose a pipe for a heating system, then the conclusion is obvious, it is better to buy a stainless steel pipe.
In residential buildings, where the use of burners with an open flame is not possible for safety reasons, the heating system can be made using corrugated pipes. Where to buy stainless steel heating pipes in your city, you can find out by contacting a store that sells plumbing or building materials, or by using the virtual network.

Stainless pipes for heating - a guarantee of system reliability for many years
When installing the heating system, considerable attention is paid to the pipes used. After all, the quality of heating depends on them as well.
For a long time, stainless pipes for heating have been actively used. Consider how relevant the material is at the present time, what advantages and disadvantages it has.
Kinds
Stainless steel pipes for heating can be of three types:
- thin-walled;
- thick-walled;
- corrugated.
Thin-walled have excellent characteristics. They are resistant to corrosion and precipitation on the inner walls of the pipeline. If you take a pipe that has been used in the heating system for, say, 20 years, you can see that inside it is almost perfectly clean.
Steel pipes can be of two types:
- seamless;
- with a welded seam.
The first type is considered more reliable, and therefore has a higher cost. A pipe with a seam can leak sooner or later, which is why most craftsmen prefer seamless when creating a pipeline.
Another view steel pipes- corrugated. Appeared on the market relatively recently. It can certainly be called an alternative to classic stainless steel.
But there is a significant difference that makes this type more in demand:
Read more about corrugated pipes.
Advantages and disadvantages
Stainless steel pipes for heating have a significant number of advantages:
- long service life - the material can easily last at least 50 years;
- strength - it is quite difficult to deform or damage a pipeline of this type;
- high thermal conductivity - the pipeline easily gives off heat to the room (but this is a minus if part of the pipeline passes into unheated room- the pipe and, accordingly, the coolant in it, cools down quite quickly);
- availability - it is quite simple to buy stainless pipes for heating, they are common and have a very affordable price.
However, like any other material, this type has some disadvantages, which makes their use sometimes quite inconvenient.
However, stainless steel has only one such drawback - this is the complexity of installation. To install the pipeline, it is necessary to carry out welding work - and this, first of all, takes a long time.
In addition, this is permissible only if the room where the heating system is installed has not been carried out Finishing work. After all, welding can easily damage both wall and flooring. Accordingly, it will be necessary to redo the repair.
We do not recommend doing welding work on your own: they require certain skills that not everyone has. It would be more correct to invite a master who will connect the elements and connect the pipeline to the radiators and the heating boiler.
Important material on the topic is how to do welding yourself and what you need to know and be able to do for this.
The video below shows a hydraulic test of a stainless type corrugated pipe. The pipe passed the test. This proves that they can be safely used in modern systems heating.
Conclusion
Of course, many may say that it is much easier to buy propylene pipes for heating.
But the fact is that it is stainless steel that has the highest quality characteristics that allow you to forget about the problems of the heating system for a long time. Of course, provided that everything is designed and connected correctly.
We hope that we have convinced you that the advantages of stainless steel pipes are much greater than the disadvantages. So you can safely use them.
We will be grateful if you press the buttons social networks.
Have a nice day!

Use of corrugated stainless pipes for heating
Development modern technologies led to the emergence of new types of pipes for communications made of cross-linked polyethylene, metal-plastic. Due to the ease of installation, corrosion resistance, light weight, affordable cost, they have significantly replaced steel and copper pipes. Stainless steel corrugated pipe has not only occupied its niche, but also greatly expanded it, thanks to its characteristics.
Corrugated Stainless Pipe
Most often, a stainless steel corrugated pipe is used in the installation of heating systems, underfloor heating.
Properties due to which a stainless corrugated pipe is also suitable for heating:
- high heat transfer (a concrete surface up to 10 cm thick is easily heated);
- speed and ease of installation;
- the stainless steel pipe has excellent flexibility, so no additional fittings are needed on the bends of the tracks;
- material savings, due to the reduction of connecting taps;
- long service life of systems;
- does not corrode.
What should I pay attention to when installing?
Stainless steel pipes for floor heating are used without a plastic braid, as it reduces heat transfer.
Installation of underfloor heating using corrugated pipes
It should be noted that the bending radius must be at least three diameters of the metal corrugation.
The second point to which attention should be paid is eddy currents (Foucault currents). Stainless steel conducts electricity and must be grounded during installation. In places where a corrugated pipe for heating and electrical wiring. The corrugated sleeve must be laid in a metal pipe. It will serve as a screen, neutralizing vortex electrical currents. Otherwise, the tightness of the pipe may be violated due to electrochemical corrosion.
Installing a warm floor has its own nuances. Compression fittings must not be installed in closed systems. They are taken out above the level of the warm floor.
Specifications
Corrugated pipe is made of alloyed steel, that is, with additives that significantly improve the characteristics of the metal, and therefore, products made from it. Chromium and nickel are used as such impurities. With the addition of chromium (more than 12%), anti-corrosion properties are significantly increased, strength increases. The combination of chromium and nickel makes metal products heat-resistant, gives the metal plasticity (viscosity). Stainless steel corrugated pipe material contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel (SUS (AISI) 304 steel).
Manufacturing steps:
- First, a pipe is formed from an alloy steel strip.
- The turns of the tape are connected by automatic welding.
- They use a laser machine, check the quality of the welds.
- Then the stainless pipe is rolled.
- The corrugated sleeve is cut and rolled into coils.
The ribbed structure of the pipe is provided by rolling with special rollers
Corrugated stainless steel comes in two varieties: annealed and non-annealed. Annealed, that is, heated, and then the product is cooled so that it acquires plasticity, keeps its shape, and bends better. This is especially important for corrugated hoses of small diameters.
Specifications:
Standard dimensions: thickness 0.3 mm. In polyethylene winding 0.5 mm.
Maximum pressure: 60 bar, destructive 210 bar
The temperature range that the corrugated pipe can withstand: from -50 °C to + 110 °C. The pipe itself can withstand up to 800 ° C, but the fitting gasket up to 110 ° C.
Pipe diameter (mm) | Bending radius (mm) |
12 | 36 |
15 | 45 |
20 | 60 |
25 | 75 |
32 | 96 |
Standard packages: 50 and 30 meters (for large diameters).
Advantages and disadvantages
The wide scope of corrugated stainless steel pipes is determined by a number of material properties.
These include:
- Versatility. Pipelines of different diameters made of stainless corrugated pipes are used for:
- hot, cold water supply. Comply with sanitary and hygienic standards;
- heating systems;
- warm floors;
- natural gas supply;
- ventilation systems, chimney;
- fire extinguishing systems;
- as a corrugated hose, for electrical wiring with a high degree of fire safety;
- transportation of individual chemical compounds.
- Corrugated stainless steel has good flexibility.
- Retains its characteristics in conditions of temperature difference, repeated freezing.
- When used for water supply, it demonstrates resistance to water hammer, sudden changes in water pressure.
- Has a long service life. The minimum warranty period is 20 years, in practice they serve 2-3 times longer.
- Resistant to excessive mechanical stress, high pressure(up to 60 bar).
- Flexible corrugated systems, due to their high wear resistance, can be safely mounted in plasterboard frames.
- Not exposed to corrosion.
- The stainless steel surface (inner diameter) does not accumulate deposits.
- By weight it is comparable to bimetal, plastic.
- The number of connecting elements (fittings) has been minimized.
- Fireproof (withstands temperatures up to 800 °C).
- Compact. The rolled up coil takes up little space, making it easy to transport.
The disadvantages include the fact that the corrugated structure of the pipe increases the hydraulic resistance. In this regard, the corrugated hose is inferior to plastic, therefore, for longer routes, a greater slope is required or an additional hydraulic pump is installed.
A corrugated pipe has less sound absorption, that is, the sound of water will be heard more, in comparison with metal-plastic cross-linked with polyethylene.
They note that plastic pipes, from an aesthetic point of view, look more attractive, but this is a matter for discussion. Since the production of plastic-coated corrugated pipe has been launched, it has become more visually aesthetic.
It is more difficult to clean a corrugated surface from contaminants than a smooth one.
Main manufacturers
Japanese company Neptun. Recognized leader in the production of stainless steel corrugated pipes. Corrugated stainless steel hose appeared in Japan (about 15 years ago). Representative offices of the company are open in many countries of the world. Experts note high quality, competitive price.
Among the recognized brands that are in demand in the market are South Korean manufacturers.
Stainless Steel Corrugated Pipe Manufacturer KOFULSO
KOFULSO company. The price is higher than that of analogues, but it has good quality indicators. The service life of pipes and fittings is not limited. O-rings are thicker than in other similar systems, last more than 30 years (according to warranty obligations). Differs in resistance to mechanical influence, hydroblows.
"Lavita" (Lavita). Production is located in Latvia. This is good value for money. The cost is lower than that of KOFULSO, the quality is high level. Experts note that sometimes, when a pipe is mounted for heating, other systems, the metal rings of the fitting can cut through the walls of the corrugation.
Hydrosta. Like "Lavita" refers to affordable options. Somewhat inferior in quality to KOFULSO. On average, product claims are 5–7%.
German company "Meibas" (Meibes). Like the products of the South Korean company KOFULSO, it has good quality indicators. Pipes for heating from stainless corrugation of this company meet quality standards. But pricing, in the Eurocurrency segment, makes its products quite expensive.
Important selection criteria for corrugated pipes
Please note that the marking of the corrugated sleeve is applied only to the packaging, so do not immediately throw it away. In the event of a complaint, it will come in handy, along with the purchase receipt. Rarely, but there are cases when, instead of annealed stainless corrugations, they sell material that has not undergone thermal hardening. The quality characteristics of an unfinished pipe are an order of magnitude lower, as is the price, but they look almost the same. You can tell them apart by bending. After annealing, the corrugation bends easily, retaining its shape, it is more elastic. To confirm, it is better to ask if the seller has a certificate of conformity.
Selection criteria for corrugated pipes
The length of the corrugation in the package must correspond to that indicated on the package. In the event that a piece of pipe is purchased, then its edges are cut off evenly, at an angle of 90⁰. Cutting at a different angle can damage the fitting gasket.
During external examination of the surface, along the entire length, there should be no visible defects.
Check the contents of the brass fitting. The kit should include: connection body, silicone ring-seal, brass ring-clamp. Next comes the gasket (silicone comb ring) and the compression nut.
Mounting Features
Corrugated pipes for heating, other communication systems, are connected using brass fittings (without a fitting). In order to make installation quickly and without complications, purchase components from the same manufacturer as the corrugated hose.
Fitting completeness
When laying pipes, do not stretch it in length, as this will increase the stress. It should retain its natural shape, without tension and sagging.
Assembly steps:
- We cut the pipe with an even straight cut. It is convenient to do it between the links of the corrugated sleeve. To do this, use a metal file, grinder and other tools. Specialists use a roller pipe cutter. The edges should not have nicks, they are cleaned with abrasive materials.
- The pipe is crimped using the inner gasket part of the connection (compression fitting). The corrugated sleeve is inserted into the fitting, then tightened with the union nut from the kit.
- The desired shape, according to the project, is attached, then it is fixed with the help of special fasteners.
- The last step is to check the system. It is made under pressure more than the worker. In places of leakage, the nuts are carefully tightened.
Fitting installation methods
This is what it looks like general scheme installation. Its specificity depends on the purpose of the pipeline.
Conclusion on the topic
Corrugated stainless steel pipe has a number of advantages. High heat dissipation, 40% higher than that of a copper pipe, ease of installation - not all positive sides such systems. A weighty argument in favor of such a corrugation is that it easily tolerates freeze-thaw cycles.
But, it is worth noting that the cost of such a heating system is higher in comparison with metal-plastic cross-linked polyethylene. It would be rational to use a stainless steel corrugated hose on certain sections of the pipeline, with increased loads. Or to install a heating system with a small length, local heaters. A convenient option for heating systems of small cottages.
Homemade heating radiator from corrugated pipes
When laying electrical networks that require an increased degree of fire safety, stainless metal corrugations are indispensable. Flexible gas hoses allow you to connect and install gas equipment in such a way that it can be moved.
The technical characteristics of the stainless corrugated pipe allow it to be used in various fields as a reliable pipeline.
Due to the fact that the pipes are made of SUS304 stainless steel (the Russian analogue of 08X18H10), the product has a number of unique characteristics that allow it to be used in domestic and industrial heating systems:
- stainless corrugated pipe can be easily bent without breaking or cracking. At the same time, the product retains its original bore diameter;
- high strength characteristics;
- stainless steel pipes are resistant to corrosion, and the smooth inner surface prevents the formation of deposits;
- resistance to water hammer, temperature extremes, defrosting;
- simple installation with a minimum number of connections. Corrugated pipes are used to create underfloor heating. In addition, laying communications in the walls is allowed. For a reliable connection of products, special equipment is not required (wrenches are quite suitable);
- steel pipes are resistant to rodents, mold and mildew;
- long service life.

In the last decade, a new trend has emerged - to use corrugated stainless steel pipes in heating systems. They have high strength, flexibility, and are easy to install, because they combine the strength of metal and the flexibility of corrugations.
Unlike corrugated plastic pipes, they easily withstand high thermal loads and therefore they are increasingly used for the installation of entire heating distribution or only small sections of the system, for example, where the pipe is connected to radiators or a boiler.
Standard corrugated pipes are manufactured with a diameter of 15, 20, 25, 32 mm. If necessary, manufacturers can increase the diameter by agreement with customers.
Working t for corrugated pipes - from - 50 ° С to + 800 ° С, while the corrugation remains flexible even at - 40 ° С, and the limiting temperature is + 800 ° С - but there are no such loads in any heating system, although short-term a jump to +150 ° C is quite acceptable.
The maximum medium pressure for corrugated pipes is 50 atmospheres, but in practice they tolerate surges up to 200 atmospheres, although when used under pressure up to 210 atm. will inevitably collapse, since they are designed for a working pressure of 15 atm.
The corrugation has a low roughness coefficient and is impermeable to oxygen.
Subject to the rules for the operation of corrugated pipes for heating, the manufacturer gives a guarantee for a period of 20 years, during which the pipes will function without damage.
It is too early to talk about how long they can serve in practice, corrugated pipes have appeared in Russia recently and no one has used them for so long.
Note! The corrugation is bent at any angle, but according to the standards, the maximum bending value should not exceed the value of the pipe diameter by more than three times.
Production of corrugated stainless pipes
Corrugated pipe for heating systems was invented in Japan. But most of this type of tubular products are made today in South Korea.
