The security system is multilevel. The presence of a flame is constantly monitored by an ionization electrode. Smoke exhaust control is carried out indirectly by the temperature of the traction interrupter (with a weak draft, the thermostat of 105 degrees will work, the column will turn off and restart is possible after the traction interrupter cools down).

AEG GWH11EN13 has a thermostat (85 degrees) for controlling the outlet water temperature (when the water temperature rises, the column will turn off and it can be turned on again after the heat exchanger has cooled down).

For Electrolux GWH265NanoPlus and Zanussi GWH10Fonte, the temperature overshoot is controlled by the electronics (if 88 degrees are exceeded, a shutdown will occur, followed by an error indication).

The GWH11EN13 has a resettable thermostat to protect against overheating of the heat exchanger (it turns off the column when the heat exchanger overheats 130 degrees, it can be turned on again after a manual reset).

There is a safety hydraulic valve on the water unit (it protects the device from pressure overshoot in case of accidental vaporization or water hammer. Response pressure 12-15 bar). To protect against freezing, the water must be drained by unscrewing the safety valve.

In the event of a breakdown or unsatisfactory operation of the column, first of all, it is necessary to replace the batteries (you must use only alkaline ones). The most common faults:

• No firing up or repeated extinguishing after firing up. This breakdown is eliminated by replacing candles or an electronic unit.
