• What can be cooked from squid: fast and tasty

    And the conditions do not allow the use of wood or gas stoves, then the best option is to buy a ready-made electric heater for saunas. It will save you from problems with fuel, and it can be used in any room.

    Furnace selection

    Domestic models of heaters, as a rule, are cheaper, but inferior in design and reliability.

    To understand how to choose an electric sauna heater correctly, you need to calculate the volume of the steam room.

    • It is believed that a 1 kW furnace heats well 1 cubic meter in the room.
    • If there are windows or uninsulated walls, a lot of heat escapes through them, so for the calculation it is worth taking the figure of 1.2 kW / m3.
    • The price of the most budgetary electric sauna heaters starts from 4500 rubles. For example, for such a cost, you can take Sawo for a steam room with a volume of no more than 2.5 m3 (approximately a room 1.9 m high with walls 1 * 1.3 m).

    • If the furnace power is less than 3 kW, it is connected to a conventional 220 volt network. More powerful models are usually connected via a 380 volt network.
    • When installed in an apartment building, the maximum allowable power per wiring should not exceed 6 kW. If you take a powerful stove, you should get permission and install new appropriate wiring.
    • The oven must be purchased, and not made by hand. Make sure it has safety certificates and timer on / off, temperature control functions.
    • Since a large amount of heat is emitted from the sauna heater, the steam room must be large enough to lie down in. That is, at least in length - 1.7-2 meters. Being in an upright position in such a sauna is contraindicated.

    Main Rules

    Over the many years of using electric ovens, a standard way of using them has developed:

    • The allotted corner is carefully insulated mineral wool and covered with aluminum foil. Waterproofing should be fixed with a reflective layer inside, and the joints should be securely taped with adhesive tape.

    • Usually a thickness of 5-10 cm insulation is enough. It is believed that each open 1 square meter stone wall increases the power consumption of the furnace is equivalent to an increase in the volume of the room by 1.5-2 m3.
    • From above, the walls are trimmed with clapboard 12-16 mm thick. There should be a free space of about 1 cm under it for ventilation.
    • The optimal height of the steam room is 190-210 cm. This will reduce the power of the stove and speed up heating. The distance from the top shelf to the ceiling should be 110-120 cm, since the most warm air- at the top.

    Furnace installation

    • The electric sauna heater can be installed both in the corner of the room and in its center.
    • It must be installed on the floor or a flat base using special bolts that come with the kit.
    • When fastening, you must maintain the gaps specified in the instructions.
    • Only 1 stove can be installed in the steam room.
    • The surface of the walls behind the oven must be covered with a heat shield. For this, light protection is categorically not suitable, for example, asbestos slabs.

    Network connection

    • The connection must be carried out using heat-resistant wires in the sleeve through a separate circuit breaker with a residual current device.
    • To do this, you can use wires in a rubber winding, for example A07BB (VSB) or H07RN (VSN), but in no case with PVC insulation. The table shows the data for calculating the power and the number of fuses and the cross section of the wires.

    • All controls, switches, junction boxes are taken out to another room. In the sauna itself, only the heating element and the thermostat sensor remain.
    • The temperature sensor is mounted next to the oven in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. The sensor wire cannot be extended with normal wires.
    • With the help of a sensor, the heating operation will be suspended when a dangerous temperature is exceeded. Therefore, it is important to install it correctly.
    • As an additional security measure, it is recommended to use fire fighting system quenching.

    Stones for the stove

    • Large stones are laid down, and small ones are placed on top. Do not stack them too tightly or with force, otherwise air circulation will be disturbed. Heating elements must be securely covered with stones. You can not turn on the stove without stones.
    • Once a year, sort out the stones: clean them and remove small gravel so that heat transfer is not disturbed. But you can’t load the first cobblestones that come across instead of them: this can not only reduce the heating efficiency, but also become harmful to health.

    Advice! Stones must withstand the heat and high temperature fluctuations that evaporating water creates. They should not crack or give off an odor at high temperatures. Usually comes with a basic set of stones.

    Sauna ventilation

    Good ventilation in the sauna also plays an important role when connecting the stove. It will provide sufficient oxygen levels, keep freshness and retain steam. If you organize it correctly, then you will save electricity, especially at the time of warming up.

    Typically, the ventilation in the heater can be forced or natural.

    • With forced ventilation, it is necessary to provide air supply through the inlet air valve above the heater, at a height of more than 50 cm. In the diagram, this zone is shown as a hatched area with the letter “A”. This type of ventilation is recommended.
    • The exhaust duct should be installed as far and as low as possible relative to the heater.

    Advice! If the exhaust valve cannot be made so low, you can leave a gap of 10-15 cm under the door. The exhausted cold air will go into the next room and then into the ventilation system.

    • If natural air circulation is used, the air must come from an area below or next to the heater (shaded area "B" in the diagram). In this case, the hood is installed as far as possible from the heater and at least 1 meter higher than the supply. Usually the hood is made under the shelf, or just leave a gap under the door.

    Furnace operation

    • Do not exceed the air temperature in the steam room more than 100 degrees. Such a temperature not only harms health: the skin and respiratory tract dry out, but also provokes the release of harmful substances from the tree.
    • Cannot be added to water for feeding on stones essential oils. It is necessary to use special compounds that evaporate and do not burn out. It is enough just to put a container with hot water and put some oil into it.
    • Follow the rules fire safety. Do not dry clothes even over the switched off oven.

    Conclusion

    In any case, only a specialist with experience should connect the oven to the network. But if you want to save money preparatory work you can do it yourself ().

    The instruction on the video in this article will show you in practice the process of using an electric heater in a home sauna:

    A modern electric oven provides the specified temperature conditions in the steam room and is able to replace the Russian wood-burning stove. You can install the device yourself, guided by the attached recommendations.

    Wiring requirements for an electric furnace in a bath

    Electric sauna stoves 220 V with a power of up to 4.5 kW operate on a single-phase current. High power devices use three-phase current. You can connect several heating elements in parallel to the network, but this triples the current strength. Therefore, in this case, correctly select the cross-section of electrical wires, designed for the power of the furnace.
    Consider the following points:
    • For a single-phase network, use a three-core cable, for a three-phase network, use a five-core cable.
    • A prerequisite for wires is the presence of a ground wire.
    • Attach the wires to the wall using conventional cable channels.
    • The cable between the control panel and the oven must be in a special rubber insulation. Sometimes such a cable is supplied with the oven.
    • Wires with reinforced insulation are expensive, so it is recommended to reduce their length. To do this, near the stove (not closer than 1 m), on the wall, install a metal mounting box. Between the box and the remote control covertly lay ordinary wires in vinyl insulation, and from the box to the oven - wires with reinforced insulation. Pull heat-resistant wires through a metal hose or pipe, which is grounded.
    • Under high temperature conditions, the strands of copper and aluminum wires oxidize, so all wires in the building must be copper.

    Rules for placing an electric furnace for a bath

    It is recommended to install the electric oven in the nearest front door corner. Manufacturers make corner electric stoves for the Russian bath, some models can be hung on the wall. Modern products can be installed in the middle of the steam room if all the requirements for the safe operation of the device are met.
    Follow these requirements:
    1. Between the hot surfaces of the furnace and the walls of the bath, there must be gaps indicated in the technical documentation of the device. Usually the gaps are 50 cm.
    2. The device can be placed close to a combustible surface if it is protected by a special screen.
    3. For safety reasons, the device is protected by protective structures. The gap between them and the oven must be at least 7 cm, each device has its own.
    4. Behind the stove, provide an inlet for ventilation of the bath. It is made at a height of 5-10 cm from the floor. Air must escape through an opening on the opposite side of the room. The diameters of the ventilation holes vary from 150 to 250 mm, depending on the power of the oven.
    5. Foundation for floor structures is not needed, make a massive base of fireclay bricks or metal sheet on a heat-insulating base.
    6. You can cover the floor on which there is a small stove non-combustible material, For example, ceramic tiles or a slab of asbestos-cement material. Please note that with stones, the stove has a lot of weight.

    Features of the installation of elements of the electric furnace in the bath

    All electric furnaces are composed of the same components, interconnected by cables. principled circuit diagram The device is simple: voltage is supplied to some terminals of the remote control controller, other wires leading to the heating device are connected to the output terminals. If there is a steam generator, its own wires are stretched from the remote control to it. The installation of each element is carried out according to certain rules.

    Installation of the furnace body in the bath

    Heating elements and their connection points are installed in the housing. There are models in which space is allocated for stones, a water tank or a steam generator.
    If the oven must work with stones, it must not be turned on in their absence, the heating elements will fail. Rinse the stones well before laying. The sizes of stones are also regulated. Usually use pebbles with sizes of 5-9 mm. The speed of heating the steam room depends on their size.

    Installation of the control panel for the electric furnace in the bath

    Using the remote control, you can set the temperature and various effects. Sensors allow you to see changes in heating. In modern electric sauna stoves, the control panel of the device is often built into the body of the stove, and the device is configured directly from the steam room. The remote control is also supplied with the device and performs redundant functions. When installing the remote control, follow these guidelines:
    • Due to the high temperature and humidity in the steam room, install the controller on the wall in a room that is maintained at room temperature.
    • From the remote control, stretch the wires to the electrical panel and connect to a separate circuit breaker. The switch must be rated to match the power of the electric furnace.
    • An RCD must also be present in the circuit.
    • The remote control and the stove in the saunas are in different rooms, therefore, to pull the wires, make wall penetrations.
    • After making a hole in the wall, install a pipe made of non-combustible material through which the cable is pulled. Then seal the hole with a non-combustible material, such as cement.
    • Do not lay electrical cables and wires from sensors in the same wall penetration.
    • It is advisable to lay cables at the stage of erecting the walls of the bath.

    Temperature and humidity sensors in the electric furnace in the bath

    Sensors are connected using special heat-resistant cables. The wires of the sensors must be solid, it is impossible to use several interconnected cables for extension. They are installed in the places indicated in the operating instructions for the furnace. Typically, sensors are installed above the stove, shelves or above the exit from the steam room.

    Grounding the electric furnace in the bath

    The room must have its own ground loop to which the oven is connected. The contour is buried in the ground at the construction stage of the bath. The ground cable from the furnace to the circuit is pulled through the cable channels. If there is no loop, connect the ground cable of the oven to the neutral terminal on the electrical panel.
    And finally, we present a video about electric sauna stoves:

    This is a list of basic installation rules. electrical device ends in the bath. By doing this, you will be able to install electric oven for a bath with your own hands and get a safe, easy-to-use unit. Author: TutKnow.ru editors

    For some, there is nothing better than the smell of firewood cracking from the fire and the feeling of real, natural warmth, but someone, on the contrary, is ready to sacrifice the primordially Russian attributes of a bathhouse and give preference to comfort and functionality. In this regard, electric stoves for a bath are an ideal option: they do not need to be fueled from time to time, they do not smoke or smoke, and thanks to their compactness and lightness, the interior of even a very small steam room can be made quite attractive.

    Modern electric stoves for baths are good not only because they take up little space - they do not need to have a chimney, and therefore their installation will cost several times cheaper than any other stove. In addition, only an electric heater has a sufficiently wide temperature range. And thirdly, around electric ovens is always perfectly clean: no ash, no dust, no smog.

    Advantages of electric ovens over others

    Modern electric sauna stoves are much stronger and more durable than conventional wooden ones. And they also have a number of quite pleasant advantages:

    • Extremely easy to use - just press the button, and you can prepare for bath procedures.
    • Optionally, you can use the voltage of different phases: either 220V or 380V.
    • You can put such a stove in the steam room anywhere - even against the wall, even in the center.
    • A modern electric oven is absolutely safe for a bath: it has a well-thought-out cyclical operation, automation and protective shutdown of its heating elements.
    • Many models of such stoves are designed to maintain the desired temperature in the steam room without additional energy.
    • Most modern models electric ovens have a built-in or even remote control panel, which is very convenient.
    • With such an oven, the steam room warms up quickly, the heat is soft and even.

    What to be guided by when choosing?

    The choice of these compact and convenient stoves for a bath is truly huge today. And in order not to make a mistake and choose the ideal unit for your favorite steam room, it is important to pay attention to the following parameters:

    The required power of an electric furnace is usually calculated using the following formula: 1 cubic meter of steam room volume = 1 kilowatt of electricity. After this calculation, it is still necessary to take into account the energy capacity of the room - so that a short circuit does not occur and the plugs do not knock out, as well as the available voltage - this is 220V, or 380V.

    2. Controls

    The second important fact is how exactly the furnace will be controlled. Namely - its built-in remote control or remote, here it’s already more convenient for anyone. The main thing is that with the help of the remote control it is possible to control the heating of the bath, maintain the temperature for the required time and turn it off with the same button press.

    3. Heater type

    This parameter of the electric furnace is the most important. So, heaters can be tape, heating elements or combined. The heating element, also called tubular, is able to heat the steam room up to 800 ° C, but it is short-lived due to its fragility. That is why it is better to take bath electric furnaces only with expensive stainless steel heating elements that can withstand repeated thermal loads.

    But a more rapid achievement of the required temperature will provide a tape heater. It is more economical and environmentally friendly than a heating element, but its surface temperature is much lower, and therefore it does not burn air as much. And it also lasts much longer than tubular ones.

    Combined stoves, which combine both tape and electric heaters, are much more expensive, but they heat the steam room very quickly and to the highest temperature that can be reached.

    4. Furnace design

    Modern sauna stoves - electric - can be the most different design and size. These are electric heaters for the very center of the steam room, and corner ovens with special bracket.

    The bath itself can be both beautiful metal and lined with natural stone. Moreover, the facing stone - and this can be soapstone, and serpentine, and talcomagnesite, which in itself is not only aesthetics, but also:

    Protection against direct infrared radiation;
    - heat accumulation;
    - absence of convection temperature drops;
    - an ideal single thermal background in the steam room;
    - beneficial effect on the human body.

    5. Certificate of conformity

    And, finally, when buying an electric sauna stove, you must definitely require a product certificate and a certificate for its fire safety.

    The subtleties and nuances of installing an electric furnace

    And, if it is possible for a real electrician to install the oven, it is better to use it - this is what Russian SNIPs require. But in extreme cases, it is important just not to forget about these safety rules:

    1. The bath must have a ground loop, and its own separate loop, and not just a neutral wire from the substation. If this is not the case, then it will be necessary to do a "zeroing" - connect the zero terminal of the switchboard to the ground wire of the electric furnace. Secondly, the electric heater must be equipped with a well-established emergency shutdown device so that it operates without error in case of short circuits or overheating of the air.
    2. The electric furnace can only be connected using a heat-resistant and moisture-resistant cable that can withstand the temperature regime.

    That's all the nuances. If the electric furnace has been installed correctly, and the safety precautions have been observed, all that remains is to enjoy the cozy warmth of the steam room. Indeed, there is one very pleasant plus in caring for an electric stove - no chimneys and their cleaning!

    Baths, saunas, hamams and many other similar rooms where people come to relax, unwind and improve their health are noticeably different from each other, but there is one thing that unites all existing types of steam rooms - warmth.

    Traditionally, the stove is the source of thermal energy in the steam room. And if earlier, heaters working on wood and other varieties were mainly used to heat the steam room space. solid fuel Today, electrical units operating from a conventional 220 V network are gaining more and more popularity.

    After studying the information below, you will learn how electric furnaces work, what are their advantages over other models, how to be guided when choosing such a unit, and also how to independently install and connect it in a steam room.

    The design of a typical electric sauna stove consists of a body, a heat-insulating layer and an electric heater (traditionally these are heating elements). The outer part of the body is covered with metal plates, inside of which there are channels for air circulation. The body of the electric sauna stove is filled with stones. The recommendation for choosing those is simple: the larger the size of the stacked stones, the faster the space of the steam room heated by an electric stove warms up. The heat-insulating layer in the design of modern electric sauna heaters is represented by steel screens placed one after the other.

    The design of modern electric stoves is absolutely safe - there are units on sale that can be used without any fears and difficulties even in apartment saunas.

    A diagram of a traditional electric sauna stove model is shown in the following image.

    The "heart" of the electric furnace are heating elements. Many uninformed citizens who plan to purchase a similar unit for their sauna have a number of questions regarding heating elements. The answers to the most popular of them are presented in the following table.

    Table. Features of using heating elements of electric sauna heaters

    Question answer

    The laying of stones is carried out so that the heating elements are completely closed. This will protect the heating elements from water ingress. At the same time, a gap must be left between the stones to ensure proper air exchange.

    Heating elements are electrical elements, therefore, it is impossible to pour water on them. Pouring water is allowed only on the stones, while the liquid should be warm. Otherwise, the tubular electric heater, if not immediately, then very quickly will fail.
    With regard to this moment, everything depends on the manufacturer, design features and operation of the heating unit. In practice, it has been established that the average service life of budget models and devices of the middle price category is about 5-6 years. More expensive heating elements regularly serve up to 10 years. In commercial saunas, this figure is reduced to 2-3 years.

    Why an electric oven?

    Firstly, modern electric stoves are characterized by much higher durability and service life compared to their ordinary wood-burning counterparts.

    Additional advantages of electric furnaces include the following indicators:

    • extreme ease of operation - just turn on the unit at the touch of a button and start preparing for the upcoming bath procedures. During this time, the oven will have time to heat the room up to comfortable temperature;
    • ease of installation - an electric stove can be installed even in the center of the steam room, even near some wall. It is only necessary to maintain the distance recommended by the manufacturer between the furnace body, walls and other elements of the environment;
    • absolute safety - automation tools, protective elements, cycling and many other components eliminate the risk of fire and other problems associated with the operation of more traditional sauna stoves operating using other energy sources;
    • ease of control - almost every modern electric oven has not only a built-in, but also a remote control panel, thanks to which the use of the unit becomes as convenient as possible.

    At the same time, there are no complaints about the atmosphere created by the electric sauna stove: the steam room warms up as evenly and quickly as possible, and the resulting heat is soft and very pleasant.

    How to choose the right electric sauna stove?

    The modern market offers a huge range of electric sauna heaters with a variety of characteristics and functions. The most popular models of different categories are presented in the following image.

    The presented variety of models can confuse and confuse an uninformed user. To choose the optimally suitable electric sauna stove, it is necessary to take into account a number of important parameters and related nuances. Information about this is given in the following table.

    Table. Criteria for choosing an electric sauna stove

    Selection Criteria Description

    To determine the volume of a room, it is necessary, as you know, to multiply the values \u200b\u200bof its height, width and length. Based on the results of this calculation, the required power of the electric furnace in kilowatts is determined based on simple rule: 1 kW of electricity per cubic meter of space.
    Be sure to compare the energy capacity of the room (determined individually by the characteristics of each project) with the power of the heating unit. If there are discrepancies, at best, the oven simply will not turn on, at worst, a short circuit will occur, possible consequences which do not need additional sounding.
    Also make sure that the chosen stove model matches the voltage in your sauna network (220 V or 380 V).
    An important criterion for choosing an electric sauna heater is its control mechanism. As noted, furnaces can be equipped with a built-in control panel, a remote control, or both elements at once. In relation to this moment, each buyer makes his own decision, giving preference to the option that is most convenient for him.
    If an oven with a remote control is selected, make sure that the remote device allows at least turning on the unit, setting the desired temperature and turning off the heating.
    One of the most significant selection criteria. As noted, the most widespread are furnaces with heating elements. In addition to this option, models with tape heaters are on the market, as well as combined variations.
    Heating elements are capable of heating the surrounding space to impressive rates of hundreds of degrees. Their main disadvantages are fragility and comparative fragility. The heating elements made of stainless alloys have the highest quality.
    Stoves with tape heaters allow you to quickly heat the steam room to the required temperature compared to their counterparts equipped with tubular heating elements. Additional advantages of tape heaters:
    - higher rates of economy of use;
    - environmental friendliness;
    - more low temperature surface heating, due to which the air is “burned” not so noticeably;
    - long service life.
    Combined models of electric sauna heaters combine the advantages of the two models discussed earlier:
    - very quickly warm up the space of the steam room;
    - provide the highest possible temperature in the room.
    The main disadvantage of combined models is the high cost.
    Design is a personal matter for everyone. Today, manufacturers offer a huge range of electric sauna stoves, made in a wide variety of size variations and with different designs. For example, in addition to standard models installed near the wall, you can purchase a unit designed for installation in the center of the room or in the corner.
    Electrical housing sauna stove it can be either just beautiful metal or finished with natural stone (talcomagnesite, soapstone, serpentine, etc.). The presence of such a cladding is not only a tribute to design, but also to functionality:
    - provides more effective protection of visitors to the steam room from direct exposure to infrared rays;
    - stones accumulate (accumulate) heat, and then give it to the environment for some time even after turning off the stove, which allows you to save some money on electricity bills;
    - lining contributes to the elimination of convection temperature differences and the creation of a generally harmonious thermal background in the steam room, etc.
    Ask the seller to present a certificate of conformity for the stove you like. In the absence of such, you should refrain from buying, because. it will not work to obtain reliable information regarding where and by whom the furnace was assembled, how long it will last, and whether such a unit is safe at all.
    Important! There are 2 key documents: a certificate directly for the product, as well as for its compliance with fire safety standards.

    Important Notes Before Installing an Electric Sauna Stove

    In accordance with current regulations, the installation of this type of equipment must be carried out by professional electricians who have the appropriate license. However, many owners decide to install electric furnaces on their own. If you wish, you can follow their example, but remember: the responsibility for any kind of consequences will lie solely with you.

    ELECTRIC HEATER FOR SAUNA VIZA Passport and instruction manual

    Instruction - download

    In order for the further operation of the electric sauna heater to be reliable and safe, it is necessary to ensure that several important requirements are met.

    First, the room must have its own ground loop. In this case, the circuit must be exactly separate - connecting to the neutral wire from an electrical substation will not work. In the absence of an individual ground loop, it will be necessary to equip the "zeroing". To do this, the ground cable of the installed furnace is connected to the zero terminal of the switchboard.

    Secondly, the connection of an electric stove must be made through an individual protective shutdown device, which is triggered in case of excessive air overheating or a short circuit.

    Thirdly, to connect the device in question to the network, you need to use a wire designed for use in similar temperature and humidity conditions.

    Fourth, as noted, the installation of the unit must be carried out in compliance with the clearances in relation to the nearest surfaces and objects. Specific recommendations on this matter are given in the instructions for the oven - check on an individual basis. The minimum allowable distances are shown in the following image.

    To fully understand the process, you should also consider the requirements for wires, cables and other related components that are used in the process of connecting an electric furnace. Information regarding these points is given in the following table.

    Table. Requirements for the elements of the wiring diagram

    Pluggable itemDescription

    Remote Control If the stove is equipped with a remote control, its installation is carried out on the wall near the door leading to the steam room, or in another room with normal room temperature (some models allow installation directly in the steam room, check individually).
    The switchboard must have a separate circuit breaker for the console. In this case, the nominal value of the machine is selected in accordance with the current load that a particular furnace consumes (information is indicated in the manufacturer's instructions).
    In accordance with current requirements, when connecting an electric sauna stove, either a differential machine is installed, with a rated leakage current of 30 mA, or a residual current device is connected to the circuit after the switch.
    Remote control cable There are no strict requirements for it. If the network is single-phase, a three-wire wire is used, if it is three-phase, a five-wire wire is used. Recommended brands of wires - NYM or VVG-ng.
    Ground conductor It was noted that the electric sauna stove is subject to mandatory grounding through the appropriate core (PE).
    The cable laying method is determined according to the conditions of the specific situation. The most commonly used method of laying through cable channels.
    Cable for connecting an electric oven You cannot connect the oven itself using vinyl-insulated wires. In order for the operation of the heating unit to be as safe and efficient as possible, the connection must be made using a special cable equipped with rubber insulation with high heat-resistant properties (often it has to be purchased separately) or using a heat-resistant single-core wire of the RKGM brand. Recommendations regarding the optimal wire cross-sections are indicated in the instructions for the furnace, because. this moment depends mainly on the power that the unit consumes.
    Wire protection is provided by the forces of a metal tube or a grounded metal sleeve.
    Along with this, laying cables through tubes and sleeves is a technically complex undertaking, and wires in a heat-resistant sheath are quite expensive. There is a compromise solution to this issue, requiring the installation of an additional junction box. Its installation is carried out on the wall, while maintaining a distance of about a meter from the stove and 50 cm from the floor. In this case, the connection is made like this:
    - Cables of NYM/VVG-ng brands are laid hidden up to the mounting box;
    - wires in heat-resistant insulation are already laid from the junction box through the pipes / metal sleeve.
    Wires for connecting sensors These elements are included with the electric sauna stove. Twisting, building up, including such cables in intermediate connections is prohibited.
    The requirements regarding the installation points of the sensors are given in the manufacturer's instructions - strictly follow each of them. Most often, the installation is carried out above the electric oven, as well as above the exit from the steam room and above the bath shelves.
    Wall penetrations If the stove and the remote control attached to it are placed in different rooms, it will be necessary to equip wall penetrations, which must be carried out in strict accordance with the current requirements of the PUE.
    So, at the points of penetrations, a mortgage tube is mounted, made on the basis of a fire-resistant material. After the cable is installed, such a tube must be sealed with a material that does not support combustion and does not contribute to the spread of fire. For example, you can use cement.
    Important! Joint passage of lines for connecting sensors with power lines of cables is unacceptable.

    This concludes the list of basic requirements. After completing them, you will have at your disposal a completely safe, easy-to-use and efficient unit. And it is not necessary to equip any protective screens, or chimneys, or other elements, the presence of which is mandatory in the case of using stoves that work by burning fuel.

    It is impossible to give universal instructions for connecting an electric heater, because. the designs of such units and the connection schemes of the elements can vary significantly depending on the manufacturer and model of the device. Previously, you received recommendations for choosing wires for connecting an electric sauna stove and tips for installing it safely. Next, you need to either seek help from a professional electrician, or connect the circuit elements in accordance with the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.

    Preparation for installation and connection

    Before proceeding with the installation and connection of the electric heater, make sure that the delivery set contains all the components declared by the manufacturer. In this example, this is:

    • oven directly;
    • soapstones (most often made from soapstone);
    • fasteners for electric oven;
    • mounting plate;
    • self-tapping screws for metal;
    • screws for the cover;
    • mounting and support plates.

    The number of listed elements, as well as the composition of the above list, may vary depending on the design of the furnace being installed, which is why these points are subject to individual clarification.

    HELO RONDO INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

    The characteristics of the sauna heater used as an example for writing this manual are shown in the following table.

    Important! The manufacturer's instructions must contain information regarding which control panels a particular sauna heater is compatible with. Be sure to follow the guidelines provided. Operation of the stove with an unsuitable remote control is not safe.

    Carefully inspect the electric oven before installing and connecting it. If you notice any kind of external damage or find that any items from the declared kit are missing, postpone the installation and contact the place of purchase of the device.

    Be sure to make sure that the power of the installed stove will be enough to service your steam room. Recommendations on these issues have been made previously. Information about the power and the maximum volume of the serviced premises must be provided by manufacturers in the instructions for their furnaces.

    In order for the installation of an electric sauna heater to be carried out at the highest level, ensure that the following requirements are met:

    • check that the specified installation dimensions are strictly observed;
    • use wooden panels for finishing the ceiling and walls - this is a more acceptable option for a steam room, but not the only possible one;
    • reinforce the walls in the places of installation of the heater fasteners in any way possible;
    • do not trust the connection of the furnace to an unqualified performer;
    • do not install more than one electric oven in the steam room. If the power of the looked after unit is not enough to effectively service the available volume of the room, buy a more efficient electric heater.

    Installation and connection

    Instructions for self-installation and connection of an electric sauna heater are given in the table.

    Table. Installation and connection of the electric heater

    Stage of workDescription

    Carefully study the instructions specific to your electric sauna heater in order to determine the minimum allowable safe distances between the heater and surrounding objects/surfaces. Recommendations specifically for this unit are shown in the diagram.
    Thus, the distance between the combustible surfaces and the heater, if it is placed at a height of not more than 45 cm, is 1 cm. and combustible elements - up to the value D. The parameter D depends on the power of the installed device. For example, in the case of an electric oven with a power of 6 kW, the value of D is 30 cm, when installing a device with a power of 9 kW - 35 cm, etc.
    To fix the furnace in question, a bar is used, the holes of which are located at a distance of 24 cm from each other.
    The following elements are used directly to mount the device to the wall:
    - furnace fasteners, indicated in the diagram by the letter A;
    - fasteners for fixing to the wall (marked with the letter B);
    - metal screws with a diameter of 4.2 mm and a length of 13 mm;
    - cover screw. In the case of this oven, it has a diameter of 6 mm and a length of 40 mm.
    Fasteners A must be placed in the hole located on the rear panel of the electric sauna stove. Install them so that the fixing part of the fastener is oriented upwards.
    The image shows The right way fixing elements A in the design of the electric furnace.
    The wall strip (marked as B) is attached to the selected section of the wall. Fixing should be done in such a way that the holes with the previously discussed fasteners A are located on top.
    Also, the fixing bar can be fixed directly on the surface of the electric oven.
    Pre-mark on the wall where the planks are attached. If necessary, you can drill pilot holes for easier mounting.
    Next, you will need to attach the device to be installed to the wall. To do this, use the self-tapping screws from the kit.
    To fasten the elements of the furnace to the wall rack, use self-tapping screws designed to work with metal.
    After completing the mounting to the wall, make sure that the legs of the device rest evenly and evenly on the floor surface. When adjusting the legs, a tolerance of 15 mm is maintained. This makes it possible to install the stove without distortions and as evenly as possible.
    The main function of the junction box is to ensure the connection of electrical wires with heat-resistant insulation used in the steam room, as well as wires through which the device is supplied with voltage provided by the switchboard.
    If possible, the junction box should be installed outside the steam room - this best option. If this is not possible, the place for mounting the box is selected in accordance with the above diagram.
    The box to be installed must have heat-resistant properties and be able to withstand temperatures up to +125 degrees. In this case, the connection is made using wires, the insulation of which allows them to be successfully operated at temperatures up to +170 degrees.
    When choosing a location for the junction box, make sure that there will be no further difficulties during its maintenance.
    The connection of the control panel with the electric oven is carried out by means of a cable. On sale there are models of consoles designed for installation both outside the steam room and inside this room.
    It is impossible to give any universal instructions regarding the choice of the location of the remote control and the installation of this device - the positions vary depending on the model of the unit and are subject to individual clarification in the manufacturer's instructions.
    In this example, the system is equipped with a temperature sensor model OLET 19. It is mounted on the wall of the steam room along the heater line. The distance between the ceiling of the steam room and the sensor is 4 cm (other values may be indicated in the instructions for your sensor specifically, check).
    The temperature sensor must be installed in strict accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Deviations from the approved standards can result in overheating of the steam room.
    The function of the sensor itself is very important: if, for some reason, the sauna heater heats up the surrounding space more than the permissible values, the limiter included in the temperature sensor circuit will turn off the power supply and, therefore, the stove. After the temperature drops to normal values, the user will be able to independently return the limiter to its initial position by pressing the return button.
    Important! Before returning the limiter to its original position, try to find the cause of the limiter operation and take actions to eliminate it. If you cannot solve this problem on your own, invite a qualified electrician - this mode of operation of the heater is not normal and safe.
    Ventilation system device In order for the operation of the electric sauna stove to be correct and, most importantly, safe for sauna visitors, efficient air exchange must be organized in the room. In the case of an electric sauna heater, a complete replacement of the air in the room must be carried out 6 times within one hour. Ventilation can be natural or forced. Schemes of each option with an accompanying description are presented below.
    When arranging a natural ventilation system, the air supply channel is arranged behind the stove, at a minimum elevation from the floor. Air supply, if possible, should be organized directly from the street. If this is not possible - from an adjacent room with dry fresh air.
    The hood is installed under the ceiling, at the maximum distance from the electric heater and at a distance of at least 1 m up from the supply channel through which fresh air is supplied.
    The flow area of the exhaust ventilation duct should be approximately twice the corresponding parameter of the fresh air supply duct.
    Each channel is equipped with its own vent valve in size. At the same time, it is recommended to install 2 valves on the hood - one near the ceiling, the other - under the top shelf.
    It is important to know how to properly use ventilation. So, if the steam room is not used for its intended purpose and there is no one in the room, the valves should be closed. Before turning on the stove, it is necessary to fully open the valve of the air supply channel and partially the valve of the hood, equipped under the upper shelf.
    As the room warms up, the intensity of air exchange is regulated by changing the degree of opening of the exhaust damper.
    After turning off the electric oven, the upper hood opens completely, which allows for efficient drying of the steam room.
    Additional notes:
    - a gap of at least 50 mm must be left between the bottom of the door leading to the steam room and the floor surface;
    - due to the fact that the system is equipped with a temperature sensor, it is forbidden to place the inlet channel in the area above the stove at a height of more than 100 cm from the ceiling surface.
    In the case of arrangement of forced ventilation, a fan will be responsible for supplying fresh air. The arrangement of the supply channel is carried out 0.5 m above the electric furnace. The hood must be equipped at a minimum distance from the floor (seen in the diagram).
    When calculating the power of the supply fan, follow the rule, according to which each visitor to the steam room must have at least 10 m3 of air for one hour. It is also important to remember that an increase in the performance of the ventilation system inevitably entails the need to increase the power of electrical equipment and contributes to an increase in energy consumption.
    But the presence of forced air exchange makes it possible to organize a more uniform distribution of heated air masses along the height of the room, which is a great advantage compared to natural ventilation.
    Connecting the oven to the mains To understand the process, you need to study a number of rules and schemes, which you are invited to do outside the table.

    The connection of the equipment in question to the network is carried out by means of special cables in heat-resistant insulation. Foreign brands VSB and VSN or their domestic counterparts RKGM, PVKV, etc. are optimally suited. Refer to the following table to determine the correct cable parameters.

    You can directly study the connection diagrams in the manufacturer's instructions attached specifically to your oven. In the case of the example under consideration, the wiring diagrams are as follows.

    The schematic diagram for connecting an electric sauna stove is shown in the following image.

    After connecting the furnace in accordance with the above diagrams, proceed to the further stages of work.

    Table. Stone laying

    Stage of workDescription

    Soapstones are laid only after the stove is installed in accordance with the instructions. Recommendations for mounting the unit on the wall were given earlier.
    Unpack the stones. Take the short pieces out of the package. You will recognize the stone to be laid first by the rounded bottom corners. Carefully place the element into the groove of the furnace body. The angles of the remaining soapstones do not differ, so the order in which they are installed does not matter.
    At this stage, the fixing plates are mounted (in this example, there are 8 of them). The installation of the plates must be carried out in such a way that they overlap the stacked stones. Due to this, the required gap will remain between the laid elements.
    The plates are mounted on each side of all stacked soapstones, except for the very first one.
    After finishing laying the frontal (short) stones, put in the oven elements designed to be installed inside the heater. Their total weight for the furnace in question should be about 30 kg. Most likely there will be no stones in the delivery set and you will have to get them yourself. The best way- purchase in a specialized store. This point will be discussed in more detail below.
    Lay the stones so that the heating elements are completely covered.
    Important! The laying of stones must be carried out strictly in accordance with the instructions given. It is impossible to place stones between soap frontal elements and heating elements. In addition, a ban on the operation of an electric sauna heater is imposed if there are no soapy frontal stones, as well as if cracks are found on the stacked elements.
    Having laid the inner stones, proceed to fixing the support plates from the kit above them. The order of installation of these elements is shown in the images.
    Looking into the body of an electric sauna heater, you will see special limiters. The presence of these elements will prevent the soapstones from moving after they have been placed.
    Install the plates between the pre-installed vertical stops. The stones themselves, at the same time, will also be located between the limiters.
    To properly lay the top soapstone, first you need to move its edge under one of the edges, and then under the second edge, so that as a result the element rests against the stopper surface.
    When doing this, make sure that the upper soapstone is located behind the pre-installed limiter.
    Lay the top soapstone with rounded edges. This element must be advanced under the edge from the second end, and then pushed along the base plate until the limiter is reached.
    In the corresponding image, limiters are marked with arrows to fix the position of the stacked stones.
    In the case of this oven, the middle stones are 40.5 cm long. Installation is carried out as follows: first, the element is pushed into the space under the right edge, after which it moves along the slab under the edge on the left until a stop with a horizontal stop is provided.
    After completing the laying, make sure that even gaps are provided between the elements, and the stones themselves are located between the stops.
    As noted, the full and correct operation of the electric heater is ensured by the complex efforts of facing (soap) and third-party internal stones, which are best purchased separately in a specialized sauna store.
    Before laying the stones in the oven, they should be washed and dried. The largest stones are placed at the bottom, the smaller elements are placed at the top. Between the stacked stones it is necessary to maintain gaps for air circulation. Additionally, make sure that under the influence of stones there is no pressing of the heating elements in relation to each other and to the body of the stove.
    Lay the stones so that the heating elements are completely covered. Refrain from using too small stones - if they are present, air circulation will noticeably worsen.
    Between the first heating element and the front facing stones, internal stones do not fit.
    Before turning on the stove, make sure that all stones are intact and located in accordance with the instructions. It is impossible to turn on the furnace when the mentioned violations are detected.
    Important! Do not use ceramic stones in combination with an electric sauna heater - this may damage it and void your warranty.
    It is forbidden to turn on the stove without stones.

    In order for the electric heater to perform the tasks assigned to it as long as possible and with high quality, it must be properly warmed up before being put into permanent operation.

    The first heating is carried out as follows:

    • the oven is turned on, a 50-degree temperature is set;
    • an hour later, the device is turned off and the stones are allowed to cool completely.

    The procedure for the second warm-up is as follows:

    • the oven is turned on, the temperature is set to 80 degrees;
    • The stoves are allowed to warm up for an hour, after which they are turned off.

    Important! During the first heating, pouring water on the stones is prohibited. Otherwise, they may fail prematurely.

    After the second warm-up, the device can be put into permanent operation.

    Good to know! During operation, the color of soapstones may change - this is normal. Such changes are caused, firstly, by the effects of high temperatures, and secondly, by the quality of the water poured onto the stones.

    Important! If you find that the stones emit any odor or crack during the operation of the oven, stop using them.

    Recommendations for the correct operation of an electric sauna heater

    The oven is installed and connected. It remains only to figure out how to use it correctly. It is recommended to start the study of this section with a more detailed acquaintance with the information regarding the first use of the electric heater.

    First of all, make sure that your oven is securely and properly installed, plugged in, stones are laid out in accordance with the requirements discussed earlier, and the temperature sensor and control panel are in the right place and connected in accordance with the requirements of the relevant manufacturer's instructions.

    Switch on the sauna heater using the main switch. It is usually located at the bottom of the device. Set the previously recommended temperature (for the first warm-up - 50 degrees). Let the oven run for an hour and then turn it off. During this time, carefully monitor her condition.

    Important! The first inclusion may be accompanied by the appearance of a third-party smell. This is a variant of the norm and passes quickly enough. The appearance of an uncharacteristic smell during subsequent switching on of the oven is a reason to contact the service department.

    Safety

    To visit the sauna, equipped with an electric oven, caused only pleasant impressions and did not cause any trouble, follow a number of simple rules.

    How to take care of the electric oven and sauna?

    First of all, in the steam room you need to maintain basic hygiene. After each visit to the steam room, clean it up and dry it by opening the ventilation valve.

    At least once a year (in case of intensive use of the sauna - once every six months) remove all stones, inspect them for integrity and replace cracked elements. Remove stone fragments from the oven and discard. To replace damaged elements, use only high-quality stones designed specifically for use in combination with electric furnaces.

    Wipe the oven regularly with a moistened soft cloth to remove external contaminants and generally maintain an acceptable appearance devices. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

    Have a professional electrician visit your sauna every year to check the condition of the connections in the terminal box - constant temperature fluctuations cause screw connections to loosen.

    Popular malfunctions of electric sauna stoves

    It is possible that various problems will arise during the operation of the electric heater. You can find a description of the most common faults in the following table.

    Table. Popular malfunctions of electric sauna stoves

    Problem Solutions

    The oven does not heat up Try to resolve the issue by doing the following:
    - turn on the main switch;
    - activate the heating with the sauna heater control panel;
    - make sure the input voltage is present;
    - check the condition of the temperature limiter - it may have tripped and turned off the stove;
    - make sure the fuses are intact.
    The oven does not heat well enough The average heating time of a well-insulated steam room with an electric oven is 1 hour. If during the specified period the situation in the steam room has not changed for the better, try the following steps:
    - increase the temperature by setting the appropriate value on the control panel;
    - make sure that the stones are laid correctly and that there are enough of them. Do not forget about the need to leave gaps between individual elements, the absence of which leads to a deterioration in air circulation;
    - make sure that the power of the stove used is sufficient to service a steam room of this size;
    - check the condition of the ventilation system - too intensive work leads to the need to increase the power of the furnace;
    - check the operability of all heating elements (they turn red during operation).

    If the actions taken did not help to normalize the situation, the problems are quite serious and require the involvement of a qualified specialist - it will not be possible to cope with them on your own without the appropriate skills.

    An electric heater is a great alternative to conventional stoves that work on the principles of fuel combustion. Now you can choose a device and prepare to connect it, or even manage this event entirely on your own.

    Video - Electric sauna stove 220v

    A Russian banya without a stove is just a damp barn. And it is the stove that makes the realm of recreational recreation out of an ordinary building. A well-heated steam room will bring a lot of pleasant impressions.

    If stove heating install with your own hands, then it will warm for many years not only the body, but also the soul, with the awareness of the work done. To do this, you must either purchase a ready-made unit, or make it yourself. In any case, in order for everything to work out qualitatively during installation, you should follow some rules, which we will consider in this article.

    Installation rules

    With a purchased oven, the situation is somewhat simpler. The instructions accompanying the purchase will greatly help you.

    The design of our own production requires twice as much attention. But if all the necessary nuances are observed, nothing too complicated is foreseen.

    So, the installation of bath stoves has the following important points:

    Foundation

    For safety reasons, the installation of a stove in a bath should begin with pouring a reliable and even foundation.

    To do this, we do this:

    • At the chosen place, we dig a hole 40 cm deep for an iron stove and 80 cm for a brick one, since it is much heavier. Dimensions must exceed the dimensions of the unit itself by several centimeters.
    • We fall asleep 15 cm of gravel and carefully ram.
    • We install formwork from knocked down boards on the sides, and reinforced rods inside.

    • Fill with concrete.

    Tip: do not connect the furnace foundation to a common foundation. Their structure is different, due to which deformations may occur during the shrinkage of concrete.

    • After complete solidification, we lay asbestos cardboard 1.2 cm thick and a three-millimeter steel sheet on top. At the same time, the edges of these materials should protrude from under the oven half a meter in front of the door and 3 cm on the other sides. This will protect the floor from fire in case of accidental loss of burning fuel particles.

    Furnace door

    In this case important point is to maintain the correct distance. It should be at least one and a half meters from the door to the opposite wall. The gap between the sides of the stove and the walls of the steam room is at least half a meter.

    Chimney

    Equipped as follows:

    • We create a gate in the chimney that will regulate the combustion process in the firebox of the structure.
    • The void between the surface of the ceiling and the ceiling is filled with a substance that does not have combustible properties.
    • In the place where the chimney pipe will go outside, we install a roof cut, which will protect the roof from possible fire and from the ingress of precipitation into the room.

    The seams of the chimney system must be laser welded. Dot categorically does not fit.

    The outlet of the pipe above the roof should not exceed half a meter.

    Fire extinguishers

    Even if your oven was installed by highly paid specialists, and it itself is manufactured at the factory with the help of all modern technologies Be sure to have affordable and serviceable fire extinguishers on hand. Their price is far below the value of your life, don't skimp on them.

    Location

    The distance to the walls, as we discussed above, should be at least half a meter.

    If they are made of combustible materials, then two options can be used:

    • Installation of a sauna stove with a remote firebox. Then the source of fire can be placed at a sufficiently safe distance.
    • The device of a brick partition between sauna stove and walls flush with the height of the heating structure itself.

    The opening part of the firebox is placed to the side towards the front door, and the stove door is placed in the corner of the room.

    Ceiling

    This part of the steam room is also subject to the possibility of fire. And therefore, for safety reasons, if it is made of combustible materials, it is necessary to close it with a metal section. Its area should be thirty percent more than the area of the furnace.

    Conclusion

    Installing a stove in a bath is nothing complicated. The most important thing is to follow the above rules. And then you will be able to enjoy the services of your own steam room for many years and be proud that you did everything yourself (see also the article “Stove-fireplace for a bath - the most modern and rational solution”).

    The main task when installing a furnace system is to make its operation completely safe. Limit access to combustible materials, isolate all heating elements. Also, you should never lose your vigilance and therefore you should keep a working fire extinguisher at hand.

    Remember that safety is always paramount, and you will have a wonderful sauna stove!

    Installing the stove in the bath: step by step instructions

    The interior of the bathhouse is the second most important process for those who like to take a steam bath and at the same time prefer to do everything with their own hands. In addition to thermal insulation and the preparation of a bath interior, a stove-heater plays a special role in the functionality of the steam room, which heats the room and creates steam during bathing. Most often, the installation of the stove in the bath is carried out in the very first place, however, there may also be exceptions to this rule.

    The installation of stoves in a bath is ideally carried out by a professional master stove-setter who knows all the intricacies of the installation process. The furnace has a complex structure with several cavities inside, which must have a carefully calibrated structure, since uniform heating and traction will depend on this.

    Unprofessionalism in this matter is fraught with unpleasant consequences:

    • soot,
    • frenzy,
    • bad traction,
    • slow heating, etc.

    However, if you are building a bath “from scratch” with your own hands, then it would be quite logical to want to install the stove yourself. Considering that the cost of installing a stove in a bathhouse will be very impressive, the price of specialist services will affect, which in this case can be about 50% of total cost material used.

    With certain skills and guided by a clear scheme, you can very well carry out this process yourself.

    In this article, you will be given step-by-step instruction about how it is carried out self-installation stoves in a brick bath. With its help, you will be able to carry out this process completely independently and get a worthy result of your efforts.

    Note! In this case, the installation of stoves in a bathhouse with a built-in tank and a heater will be considered, since this is the most common analogue today.

    Furnace installation

    Foundation preparation

    Before installing the stove in the bath, it is necessary to form a proper foundation - the most optimal solution is a concrete pad. The mass of the brick structure, despite its small dimensions, will be very impressive and any other basis is not suitable for this purpose.

    It is categorically undesirable to spread the oven on the ground, since uneven shrinkage of the soil and the destructive effect of moisture are inevitable.

    The order of work looks like this:

    • The selected site is cleared of debris and the top layer of soil is removed to a depth of at least 30 cm - it is desirable that the selected area slightly exceeds the size of the future base. In place of the removed soil, sand or fine gravel with sand filler is poured - this will create a cushion for concrete and reduce the degree of shrinkage of the structure. During backfilling, the sand must be moistened and carefully compacted;
    • A formwork for pouring concrete is installed - the dimensions of the base must exceed the dimensions of the furnace by at least 10 cm around the entire perimeter. The thickness of the poured slab must be at least 30 cm - the formwork is assembled to the appropriate height;
    • As reinforcement, a frame welded from reinforcement or a metal rod is used - the diameter of the rods must be at least 12 mm. When assembled, the frame is a lattice with medium-sized cells;

    Note! The reinforcing frame should be exactly in the middle of the slab - you can not put it directly on the backfill, as in this case the reinforcement will be inferior. To place the reinforcement approximately in the middle - under it you can put stones at the corners or weld legs.

    • As a material for forming the base, a mixture of cement, sand and gravel is used in a ratio of 1: 1: 3 based on the mass of the components. The concrete should be well mixed and have the consistency of a thick porridge - the more water you add to it, the weaker its structure will be;

    After the plate “grasps”, the formwork can be removed and left to dry completely. The installation of stoves in the bath begins with a waterproofing floor, which will prevent moisture from the concrete from interacting with the masonry. For this purpose, a layer of roofing material is laid on the slab, which will effectively protect the brick from the effects of ground moisture.

    Masonry mortar and brick

    As a mortar for laying a sauna stove, you cannot use ordinary cement mortar because it does not tolerate high temperatures well. Strong heating and then cooling will cause irreversible changes in the structure of the binder, which will lead to cracks and chips.

    For this purpose, it is necessary to purchase a special heat-resistant mixture, which consists of refractory fillers and is indifferent to strong temperature changes.

    It is also possible to make a mixture with your own hands from a mixture of yellow clay and sand in a ratio of 1 to 1. Before use, the clay must be filled with water so that it gets wet - there should be enough water so that the moisture completely saturates the material.

    In this form, it should stay for at least a day. The sand should also be sifted in advance so that there are no extraneous entries in it that can greatly affect the masonry process.

    Note! When soaking clay, it is better to let there be more water than necessary, since the excess can simply be drained before mixing the solution. If there is too little water, the clay will not get wet, and uneven lumps will form.

    Furnace assembly

    Installation of the stove in the bath begins with familiarization with the order - the scheme brickwork, which shows the exact location of the bricks in each row. Since the design contains a certain number of cavities inside it, strict observance of the order will guarantee the functionality of the future device (also find out how to properly install the stove in the bath).

    With its help, you can avoid even minor mistakes, which in this case will be completely inappropriate.

    The scheme of the furnace looks like this:

    • As a material for assembling the furnace, it is necessary to use refractory fireclay bricks, which can withstand strong temperature changes without changing the internal structure.

    • A plumb line is attached to the ceiling, which will indicate the location of the future chimney. The plumb line should be exactly in the middle of the hole made in the stream - a strictly verified vertical of the chimney, this required condition good traction;
    • A solid zero row is laid out, by means of which a surface that is as flat as possible horizontally is created. This condition is very important, since a well-maintained horizontal is also a condition for good traction. For laying the zero row, you can use an ordinary cement mortar to even out the unevenness of the foundation;

    Note! Further brick laying can be done only after the zero row is completely dry, otherwise the surface leveling will not have the desired effect.

    • Lie down the first solid row, then, in accordance with the scheme, lay out the second. At this stage, air intake cavities, the so-called blowers, are formed. In this case, there are two of them - the main one and the so-called "letnik", through which an additional air flow is created in the summer;
    • Before laying out the next row, metal air intake doors are installed. As a fastener, a metal wire is used, which is wound around the corners of the door and fixed in the masonry structure;

    Note! So that the wire does not disturb the uniformity of the masonry, it is necessary to make cuts in the brick at the places where it passes.

    • To overlay the door on top - you need to select a groove in the brick with a grinder or an emery wheel. Thus, the brick will lie close, despite the non-standard dimensions of the door;

    • Before laying the fifth row, a metal grate is installed - a grate. Here, the main thing is to make sure that the grate is in a free position around the entire perimeter and does not rest against the walls of the furnace - during heating, the metal expands, which can lead to extrusion of the masonry;

    • On the fifth row, a furnace door and a water tank are installed. On the seventh row, a door for adjusting the thrust is mounted. On the ninth, a metal plate is installed to heat the stones;

    Since the brick does not always have standard shapes, it may happen that when laid out according to the scheme, gaps are formed between the individual elements. It does not make sense to cover them up, because after heating the solution will fall out and the oven will begin to smoke. In this case, it is necessary to cut the brick to right size, and moving the masonry, with the help of an additional element, close the gap.

    Outcome

    Do-it-yourself installation of the stove in the bath will help you save money on calling a specialist and at the same time create a real heater that will give good heat (see also the article “Gas and wood stoves for a bath”).

    All lovers of steaming in the bath can be divided into two categories: some love the smell of wood and the crackle of a fire, while others like the quick heating of the stove, perfect cleanliness in the steam room and the absence of soot. If you are one of the people who love comfort and efficiency, it is worth installing an electric furnace in the bath.

    The modern market offers a huge variety of electric furnaces. When choosing them, it is worth starting from your wishes, from the size of the bath and from the technical characteristics of the product. When choosing an electric furnace, pay attention to:

    1. Power. The dimensions of the steam room must correspond to the power of the stove. The well-chosen power of the product is calculated according to the following formula: one square meter of space per 1 kilowatt of electricity. When choosing electrical equipment, consider the mains voltage. Otherwise, too powerful devices can lead to a short circuit or regular knocking out of traffic jams.
    2. Control system. You can control modern devices using a remote control. With such a system, it will be convenient for you to monitor the process of heating the oven and maintaining a comfortable temperature in the bath.
    3. Heater. Tapes, plates or pipes can act as a heater. There are also combined options. Pipes warm up the room faster. If you choose stainless steel pipes, they will serve you for many years, withstanding heavy loads, heating tapes will quickly warm up the room, but the temperature in it will be lower than from pipes. This option is safer and more economical.
    4. Aesthetics. As for the appearance of the device, here you can only build on your personal wishes. Furnaces are center, corner, can be made of metal, natural stone. Their sizes are also diverse, ranging from compact to fairly large models with a sunbed.
    5. Availability of a quality certificate.

    About the future design

    The device of a homemade electric sauna stove

    The simplest model of an electric furnace consists of a box-shaped body, inside which is placed a tank with a door on the neck for adding water and several heating elements welded together. Stones are laid out above and between them. Heating up the stones give thermal energy in the steam room, raising the temperature in it to the optimum level.

    For metal structural elements stainless steel is used, which does not corrode in water, does not burn out under the influence of high temperatures and does not emit harmful substances.

    If possible, the device is controlled by an electronic remote control, which should be located outside the steam room. It is connected to the heating unit of the oven with an electric cable.

    The heating system is activated by turning on the timer. The maximum allowable level of heating of heating elements is 650ºС. If the temperature drops to 600ºС, the sensor is triggered and the “Heating” lamp lights up. Warming up of the stones occurs when the timer is in standby mode.

    As soon as the top layer of stones heats up to 550ºС, the timer is activated and the light turns on in the “Ready” position.

    Stones can also be laid out on top of the body above the heating elements on a metal grate welded from reinforcement and, during bathing procedures, pour them with water or infusion of herbs to generate steam.

    materials

    To make an electric sauna stove with your own hands, you will need to purchase the following materials:

      several electric heating elements(3-4 pieces);

      sheets of stainless steel not less than 3 mm thick;

      reinforcement with a diameter of 6 - 10 mm;

      power cable;

      rheostat regulating power;

      temperature sensor;

      asbestos-cement slab;

      a can of heat-resistant paint;

      backfill of stone.

    Tools

    The set of tools should consist of:

      tape measure and square;

      grinders;

      welding machine with a set of electrodes with a diameter of 3 mm;

      cutting wheels for metal;

      file;

      hammer, pliers.

    You need to take care in advance about personal protective equipment during welding:

      protective mask;

      overalls made of dense material;

      closed shoes;

      rubber (dielectric) gloves.

    Power calculation

    When calculating the power of an electric furnace, the thermal conductivity of the material from which the building was erected and its geometric parameters are taken into account:

    1. So for log cabins, the total power of heating elements should be in the range of 1.4 - 1.8 kW per 1 m³ of internal space.
    2. For brick and panel baths, the power of the device is calculated based on the ratio of 0.6 - 0.8 kW per 1 m³.

    Manufacturing instructions

    Making an electric furnace for a closed-type sauna with your own hands consists of the following steps:

      Development of a detailed drawing on paper with the determination of the optimal dimensions required for heating the power, the location of the future device. Usually the body of the electric furnace is made small in volume, the main space in their design is occupied by a basket for stone backfill. The shape of the body can be any, but a rectangular oven will be more convenient during operation. It is more stable, able to maintain its shape for a long period of time. Due to the fact that its corner zones almost never become hot, the balance of heat flows and uniform heating of the room are maintained.

      Calculation of the number of heating elements for the furnace, based on the power of one element.

      Marking on a steel sheet of body parts and cutting off the necessary parts.

      Connections of heating elements in one design using metal strips.

      Fixing heating elements on one side. They are mounted to one of the sides of the furnace - side or bottom, using bolts or welding. The distance from the heating elements to the metal walls of the housing must be such that an asbestos sheet can fit into this gap. Its heat transfer coefficient is minimal, therefore, no heating of the body directly by heating elements will occur.

      Furnace body assembly. Sheet steel parts are fastened by welding or bolted.

      Welding of legs made of fittings from the bottom of the furnace body for installation on the floor.

      Laying stones in dense layers, without gaps and large cracks. Larger stones are placed below, and then smaller fractions. There should be a small gap between the heating elements and the filler for air convection, its last row should completely cover the heating element, but not be higher than 8 cm. When laying stones, the heating elements must be held.

      Production of a protective casing of the furnace from sheet steel or fireclay bricks.

      Installation of power tools in the furnace. For this furnace, a simple circuit diagram is taken as a basis: the voltage from the network is supplied to the terminals of the controller of the remote control, and the wires coming from the heater are connected to the output terminals.

      Installation of the furnace control panel. The steam room is supported high level temperature and humidity, so the remote control must be installed on the wall in another room where the temperature is not higher than 25 - 28 degrees. The wires from the control panel must be connected to a separate circuit breaker in the electrical panel and laid in protective corrugated sleeves. Previously, special strobes are punched under the wiring in the walls, which, after the installation of the wires, are sealed with non-combustible building materials, for example, a cement-sand mixture.

      Installation of temperature and humidity control sensors for an electric furnace. For their connection, heat-resistant cables are used, solid in length, without joints. Usually they are mounted on top of the unit, above the shelves or above the front door to the steam room.

      Ground loop devices. The electric oven must be connected to its own ground loop, which is recommended to be laid in the ground at the construction stage of the sauna. It is brought to the furnace using protective cable channels. If at one time they didn’t worry about grounding, then the grounding cable of the furnace must be connected to the zero terminal of the electrical panel.

      Installation of a thermostat. It is installed inside the structure and is used to measure and adjust the heating temperature of the stones.

      Refinement of the appearance of the furnace. The body parts are cleaned with sandpaper, degreased with gasoline or acetone, primed and painted with two layers of heat-resistant paint;

      Checking the operation of the furnace, the safety of installation and connection.

      Installation Requirements

      The safest place to place an electric oven is the corner closest to the front door. You can also install in the center, but be sure to comply with the following requirements:

      the presence of a gap between the hot planes of the furnace and the walls of the steam room;

      flammable surfaces are protected with a special screen;

      protective fences are installed with a gap between them and the oven measuring 7 cm or more, which will help to avoid severe burns on the skin in case of accidental contact;

      there should be an inlet of the ventilation system at the back of the oven. It should be through and located at a height of 7 - 10 cm from the floor level. The size of the hole depends on the power of the furnace, on average its diameter is 15 - 25 cm;

      a massive support for such a heater is not needed, however, several layers of fireclay bricks must still be put under the installation of the product. For these purposes, a thick sheet of metal with a substrate of heat-insulating material, such as extruded polystyrene foam boards or fiberglass wool, is also suitable;

      under the electric furnace small size it is enough to put an asbestos-cement slab or ceramic products on the floor.

    Operating rules

    Do-it-yourself electric furnace should be operated in a room with a reliable ventilation system. The electrical wiring must be in good condition, its energy capabilities allow it to withstand the load from this electrical appliance, eliminating the risk of a short circuit.

    In addition, there are a number of other rules that must be followed:

    1. Do not connect the appliance to the power supply without sufficient water in the appliance.
    2. Before the first furnace and periodically during operation, measure the resistance from the network, which should not exceed 3 - 5 ohm.
    3. To prevent damage to the heating elements due to scale, pour water softened with vinegar or citric acid into the device.
    4. With a frequency of once every six months, the stones in the electric furnace are moved and cleaned of dust and cracked elements.
    5. If the bathhouse is not heated regularly in winter, then after each visit to the bathhouse, the water from the stove must be drained, as it can expand when it freezes and break the connecting seams of the body.

    Conclusion

    Making an electric sauna stove is not such a difficult process for self-assembly. It is assembled simply and without the use of expensive materials, does not require the construction of a chimney and cleaning from combustion products.

    For those who have a cottage or Vacation home, the prerogative to create a steam room for yourself and for guests is very tempting. Provided that there are no problems with the voltage in the network and on the site, you can do it and thereby save money.

    Note! If you decide to buy a ready-made electric fireplace, choose it based on the temperature regime, electricity consumption and heating power.

    Why Choose Electricity?

    Nowadays, it is really easier to build an electric heater than to heat a stove with wood. Because it:

    • Clean - no ash on the floor near the firebox and blew, getting your hands dirty to kindle the fireplace is also not necessary;
    • Fast - start and heat up the oven, this process does not take much time;
    • Safe - the likelihood of getting burned is minimized. There is also no risk of gas leakage, explosion, the likelihood of a fire is significantly reduced;
    • Convenient - with modern panel control to set any given parameters is not difficult;

    What is true, you will only have to put up with the high costs of electricity, so if you are ready for them, move on.

    What do you need to manually assemble the oven?

    Gathered to create do-it-yourself electric sauna stove- it is necessary to select a thermal heating element (TEN). It is also worth deciding what type of oven will be, open or closed. Usually the second option is chosen more often, since the heating element in it can be installed in any position. In addition to the heater, you will need a screen and a bus for the voltage wire.

    Assembly of the electric heater

    When starting work with electricity, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the construction and technical instructions in detail, check the equipment and use a protective suit. When assembling do-it-yourself electric baths be sure to observe grounding, and also at the first start, check the resistance so that it falls in the range of 3-5 ohms.

    What to make the case from and what size it should be, you decide, based on the volume of the room that needs to be heated. Usually sheet steel is chosen, the heater can be made open lattice or closed. Installation of equipment from pre-purchased or welded elements occurs as follows:

    • First, the number of heating elements is determined, based on the cubic capacity of the bath room;
    • The heating elements are connected to each other using a system of jumpers;
    • A heat shield is equipped from sheet steel;
    • The heater is welded and laid out.

    Tip: it is better to choose river stones, flat ones - they are sold ready-made in hardware stores.

    • The frame is assembled from metal sheets. The electric furnace can also be laid out with bricks.
    • An electrical circuit is assembled in series and a control relay is installed. Rotary switches are usually chosen.

    Done, the oven can be connected to the network and after checking all the indicators, enjoy the new steam room for quick heating.
