• What can be cooked from squid: quick and tasty

    If you are planning to replace or insert new windows, you need to study the installation process. It all depends on how you will install the windows: either with your own hands, or by attracting a third-party company. It takes about 4 hours to dismantle and install the structure, if you have no experience in this matter. For an employee of the company who does this often, such work will take no more than an hour. But installing tilt-and-turn windows on your own requires building skills.

    Window system complete set

    Before proceeding with the installation, you need to understand the nuances and details. First you need to find out all the names of the parts and materials. The main supporting part is the frame. In option plastic windows its production is carried out from plastic profile, which can be single-chamber, double-chamber, etc. A special insert is placed in the center of the structure to ensure rigidity. V plastic systems this insert is made of plastic, metal is used in metal-plastic ones.

    The profile system is assembled from 2 or more cameras

    In addition, the profile is divided into classes: premium, standard and economy. All profiles, which are manufactured in the factory, are subject to certain standards. If you want to opt for good tilt-and-turn windows, take the standard class. By color, white windows are most often found, but other colors can also be used: wood-like, brown. Products from a colored profile will be more expensive than white.

    Components of a plastic window

    Main element window block - frame

    The construction of a plastic window includes the following details:

    • frame - the main structural part;
    • if you have a large window, most of the time it splits vertical partition, there may be several of them - it all depends on the choice of design;
    • the part that is motionless is called deaf, and the part that opens is called a sash;
    • double-glazed windows can be of different properties, for example, tinted, energy-saving, reinforced, using an inert gas. In addition, they are single-layer, two-layer, three-layer or multi-layer - the choice is great;
    • in order for the glasses to hold securely, they are pressed with a bead, which is a thin plastic strip. For tightness, a rubber seal is used, most often black;
    • fittings are always used - this is a special set of swing-out mechanisms that help open and close the sashes and provide various functionality;
    • in addition, seals are needed to ensure the tightness of the entire structure;
    • on the inside of the frame, ventilated drainage holes are made, which are covered with caps. Moisture generated by the drop temperature regime on the street and inside the room, gets through them to the outside;
    • another part of the structure is the ebb - it is mounted outside, and the window sill is installed from the inside;
    • parts located on the side of the frame are finished with slopes.

    Can I install the window myself

    It is believed that installing windows in a house or apartment is a rather complicated procedure. It must be said that this is not the case. What do you need to know when installing? To carry out these works, you do not need special professional tools and equipment, huge experience. The procedure includes two main points:

    • dismantling the old window block;
    • installation of a new window.

    Dismantling an old window takes an average of 1.5 hours

    If we talk about the time required to complete the work, then the first stage will take about an hour and a half. Do-it-yourself installation of windows will take less than three hours. I must say that if, nevertheless, you decide to make a choice in favor of the services of specialists, then you should demand certain guarantees from them.

    If you have installed the tilt-and-turn windows yourself, this voids your warranty. In this case, it is necessary to purchase structures directly from a manufacturer who has been working on the market for a long time, has good feedback from clients. If you decide to buy single-chamber or double-chamber windows in winter, you can always count on a significant discount.

    When a window is purchased from a company that carries out and assembly work, then the customer has a 5-year warranty for the fittings. At self-installation you can obtain a warranty directly from the manufacturer, that is, at the place of purchase.

    In order for the installation of windows to be done brick house, cinder block, gas-block or apartment, you first need to make an order for a swing-out or deaf structure from the manufacturer, and this requires accurate measurements.

    Step-by-step instructions for correct measurement

    When you place an order, you will be asked to indicate the following dimensions: width and height of the structure, width and length of the slope and window sill.

    Before ordering a window, it is necessary to correctly measure the structure

    Before you start measuring, watch out for important point- what kind of opening do you have: with a quarter or without. Look carefully at the window opening: if the outer part is narrower, then there is a quarter opening in front of you. The measurement is made as follows: you need to measure the narrowest part, you will need to measure it in several places, find the smallest value, add 3 cm to it. The height is indicated as it is. If your opening is even, then the measurements are done as follows: after measuring the width, 3 cm is subtracted; having measured the height, minus 5 cm. Read the detailed article about.

    Before measurements, you need to determine the type of window: with a quarter or without

    To determine the size of the window sill, you need to add about 10 cm to the width of the opening inside the window. For the ebb, the same is done, only along the outer part of the window. Everyone chooses the width for the window sill for themselves: it is better if it protrudes slightly beyond the battery.

    In addition, when making an order, you need to decide from which components your structure will be made: what options for two-, three- or single-leaf windows you need, how they will open, on which side the wood grouse is located. Do not forget to decide on the type of fittings (handles, locks, ventilation mechanisms).

    If you order several designs at the same time, then the width of all openings may be different, but the height must be the same, you must choose the smallest size. Please note that window openings can be located at different distances from the floor.... In apartments, from floor to window is approximately 80 cm, while on the balcony the windows can be from the floor. Accommodation in a private house can generally be anything at the discretion of the owners.

    Features of measurements for glazing balconies

    To determine the width glass structure, it is necessary to measure in length that part of the balcony on which the balcony window will be installed, minus 7 cm on each side. This distance is required for the installation of the corner profile, to which the structures of the side elements of the balcony are attached. The height is calculated as the distance from the support to the roof on the balcony or on the loggia, while subtracting a tolerance of 3 cm for the gap.

    How to correctly measure windows in a country house

    To correctly measure the dimensions of the structure in a private house, knock out part of the slopes on both sides. Very often it turns out that the window opening is much larger than the window that is installed in it. This means that during dismantling, the structure will simultaneously extract part of the materials that filled the space.

    Preparing for the installation of a window structure

    After you take out the old window, you will need to inspect the resulting opening, remove all parts that may fall off or collapse, if there are protruding elements, they should be knocked down. Then clean the opening from construction debris and dust. In the presence of large depressions, it is better to cover them with cement. You can also treat everything with soil.

    Before installation, you will need to clean the base

    After finishing work with the opening, you need to prepare the PVC window, the installation of which is to be done. To do this, it is necessary to remove the sash of the window, if it is deaf - double-glazed windows. If your frame is small, then you can install it without removing the double-glazed windows and sashes.... The outer part of the frame should be freed from the film that protects it.

    Installation Technology Guide

    The finished plastic window is brought into the opening, placed on the support blocks and aligned horizontally. After that, using a level, the window is positioned vertically and fixed in this position with spacer blocks.

    Installation of both fixed windows and with opening sashes is the same. There are two options for installing windows: with and without construction. When using the first option, holes are drilled through the frame through which anchor bolts are driven into the wall. This method is more complex and most reliable.

    When installing a window by unpacking, holes are drilled in the frame and wall, where anchors are then driven in.
    Anchors and support blocks fastening points

    If the installation is carried out without unpacking the frame, the window is fixed using special ones, which are attached to the profile, and then to the wall. This option is faster. However, it should be borne in mind that under significant wind loads, the frame structure may be skewed or it may sag. If the decision is made to mount on a plate, it is worth choosing thick, wide options. Please note that if the region in which you live is characterized by a strong wind load or the installation of windows at a height is to be done, then it is worth using the option with unscrewing the frame.

    Mounting on anchor plates

    There are nuances for placing a window in the opening. If the walls are made of foam blocks, brick, cinder block, gas silicate or concrete, then the frame is placed 2/3 deep internal thickness opening... If the walls are insulated with foam, then the fastening must be done up to the insulation layer. When insulating and facing with bricks, the window is installed in the insulation zone.

    It is very important to select the correct installation depth

    The installation sequence must be observed:

    • having inserted the frame, set it to a level using support and spacer pads;
    • then attached to the wall;
    • after installing the structure, it is necessary to assemble the window;
    • then you need to check the normal operation of the sashes and all mechanisms, for this open and close the window;
    • after everything has been checked, the flaps must be tightly closed and the gap around the structure must be sealed. For this they are used.

    However, it must be remembered that with direct contact with the sun's rays and the external environment, the material loses its properties and collapses. To protect it, it is necessary to create, it can be a special film that must be glued on the outside and inside of the window. After the foam dries, it is necessary to finish the slopes on both sides (external, internal) of the structure. You can open the window a day after blowing foam into the gap.

    To make the correct installation both on windows and, follow the simple rules:

    • we mount the ebb from the outside in a special slot in the frame or attach to it with self-tapping screws;
    • the window sill is installed as follows: it is necessary to cut it from the edges so that it fits in the width of the window opening and rests against the end of the support profile;
    • the level is leveled with the help of special linings, after which the space under the windowsill is blown out with foam or filled with a solution.

    According to the principle of the description above, windows are installed on a balcony or on a loggia, in brick or concrete walls... However, keep in mind that the entire weight of the window structure will be carried by the parapet, so you need to strengthen it.

    Errors that can be made when installing windows

    There are a number of points that you should pay attention to when installing a structure so that it has a long term of use:

    • it is impossible to install the window with glazing beads outward, as this reduces the anti-burglar resistance of the structure, since the glazing bead can be easily pulled out and the glass unit can be removed;
    • you need to carefully consider the alignment of structures in the level during the installation of the window, otherwise it will be difficult to open and close the sashes;
    • it is imperative to protect the polyurethane foam from direct sun rays to avoid its destruction;
    • the choice of fixing the frame structure only with mounting foam will be wrong: it is imperative to fix it to the wall, otherwise it may simply fall out.

    Observing all the installation rules, you can successfully mount the window structure yourself, and if you turn to professionals for services, you can control their work at any stage.

    Due to its durability, ease of use, as well as relatively easy installation, plastic windows are considered the most popular today. Professionals, on average, spend no more than 1.5 hours on the installation of plastic windows. But the price of their virtuosity is not so cheap either.

    Plastic windows are modern and comfortable translucent systems that retain the warmth of the room in the cold season or allow you to choose optimal mode airing in hot weather.

    Most people are looking for opportunities to save money, because apartment renovation is already expensive, so if there is free time, then you can complete the installation yourself. To do this, you just need to carefully study the technology and the rules for their installation. Moreover, we can confidently say that if you make one window, then a skill will appear and, accordingly, subsequent glazing of openings will be made much faster and better.

    Before starting work, you should know that the installation of plastic structures can be carried out in two different ways, each of them has its own characteristics.

    Install unpack method

    Unpacking method. It consists in the fact that the window is disassembled before installation.

    This method includes preliminary disassembly of the window. For this, the glazing beads are removed, the double-glazed windows are removed from the frame and, during installation, are set aside. After that, the frame is attached to the surface using anchors or dowels. Then all the components of the window are put in place. It should be noted that with such an installation, the window may fog up in the future and, during the dismantling of the components, chips and cracks may appear, which ultimately will affect appearance... Nevertheless, such a method is sometimes simply necessary. In the event that the apartment where the windows are installed is on high floors and the opening is large (more than 2 by 2 m), then this option is preferable, since the windows there are more exposed to gusts of wind and external aggression. This is the most reliable way. Additional strength can be achieved by attaching the frame not with dowels, but with long anchors.

    Installation without unpacking

    The no-unpacking method means that before installing the insulating glass unit, it does not need to be disassembled.

    This method differs from the first in that in this case, the removal of glazing beads and glass units does not occur, since the frame is not attached directly to the opening through and through, but is installed using pre-prepared fasteners on the outer side of the surface of the frame itself. This is usually the most common technology in private homes. This method has practically no drawbacks and is used more often than the first, of course, if there are no above nuances. In other words right choice the method will be prompted by such factors: the type of construction of the building, the size of the opening, the number of storeys, wind loads on the window. In addition, if there are sliding sashes in the installed window, which, with constant use, will carry an impact load on the entire structure, then it is better not to use this installation method.

    Fundamental rules

    Plastic window scheme: 1 - Frame; 2 - Sash; 3 - double-glazed window; 4 - Drainage; 5 - support profile; 6 - Window sill; 7 - Connecting profile; 8 - the Panel of the slope

    It should be noted that if you violate the installation rules, then exposure to moisture on the seams, direct exposure to sunlight and sudden temperature changes will lead to their destruction and, as a result, to the loss of sound and heat insulation properties. Accordingly, in this case, the owner of the apartment will be disappointed: instead of the expected heat and sound insulation, he will get an even colder room than the one that was before the installation of the new window.

    It's no secret that hired installers also often make gross mistakes, so if there is no reliable construction company or the budget does not allow hiring expensive specialists, then in this case, installing plastic windows on your own will be the best and most reliable option, because the windows installed with love will last a lot of time. To do this, you need to study the rules and sequence of the entire installation process.

    Sequence of installation work

    PVC window frames are securely installed in the window opening using side anchors or fixing plates.

    1. preparation of the premises for repair work(furniture should be covered with a protective film, floor coverings are removed, at a distance of 2 m from the opening, the space should be free);
    2. dismantling;
    3. preparation of the opening: it must be cleaned of dust, dirt, there should not be protrusions more than 1 cm on it, all deep slots must be sealed with dense insulation material;
    4. preparing a new window for installation;
    5. marking the frame where the fasteners will be located, as well as making holes in these places;
    6. making holes for fasteners;
    7. setting the window by level;
    8. direct window installation;
    9. sealing cracks with polyurethane foam;
    10. installation of an ebb tide;
    11. installation of a window sill;
    12. final adjustment of fittings and installation of handles.

    Step by step description

    Installation of windows must be carried out during the day and experts do not recommend postponing it until tomorrow. Therefore, before starting work, it is necessary to have at hand all the necessary set of tools, which must be taken care of in advance. By the way, having bought it once, such tools will come in handy in the house more than once.

    The grinder is a versatile tool, otherwise called an angle Grinder(Angle grinder), is used for leveling surfaces, removing paint or rust.

    Required set of tools:

    • jigsaw;
    • construction knife;
    • hammer;
    • Bulgarian;
    • level;
    • foam gun;
    • screwdriver;
    • roulette;
    • pencil;
    • set of hexagons;
    • silicone gun;
    • puncher.

    Material:

    • plastic window;
    • polyurethane foam;
    • self-tapping screws for metal (4 mm) and dowels;
    • fasteners (anchor plates);
    • low tide;
    • white silicone.

    Installation process and order

    The sash is removed from the window. Dismantle window frames. If necessary, dismantle (knock off) the slopes.

    So, the room is prepared for repair work and after that the installation process itself begins. Of course, the old frames must be dismantled first. For this, the glasses are removed, cuts are made in the old frame with a grinder and the frame itself is removed in parts with a puncher. You can use a crowbar instead of a hammer drill. If present wooden window sill, then it is dismantled in a similar way. Concrete windowsill can be easily removed with a conventional hammer. After dismantling work, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned of debris and dust.

    Next, preparations are made for installation. At this stage, it is important to know that if the window is not deaf, then all mechanisms should be closed. Otherwise, when filling the gaps between the frame and the opening with foam, the profile can lead in such a way that it will bend in an arc. The rules for installing plastic windows state that the protective film should be removed only when Finishing work completed; do not put the handles, as this may result in the inadvertent opening of the window. Also, after the openings are filled with foam, the window must be closed for at least 12 hours.

    The sashes are removed from the plastic window, the double-glazed window is removed. A window frame is inserted into the prepared opening and fixed on anchor bolts or mounting plates.

    Fasteners should be placed on all sides of the frame, therefore, the markings should be made around the entire perimeter of the window in increments of 70 cm.From the extreme fasteners, the indent should be at least 10-15 cm.After the marking is made, fasteners are screwed to the frame using self-tapping screws (anchor plates) so that the screw goes deep into the profile and reaches the metal (bent channel), which is inside the structure. Then the window is substituted for the opening, and marks are made directly on it. Further on these marks, where the fasteners will be installed, recesses are made for them.

    After that, the window should be leveled. To relieve this process, you can use wooden blocks, which must be placed under the transverse parts of the structure in the following sequence: first two lower ones, then two upper ones. As a result, the window frame should be perfectly aligned both horizontally and vertically. You can check the correct installation using a building level. After making sure that the frame is level, you can proceed directly to the mount. This is done using dowels.

    Ebb tides perform not only a decorative role, but also have waterproofing properties, so at this stage it is imperative to install this element. To prevent water from getting into the joints of the low tide with the frame in the future, it is best to install it under the window. If this is not possible, then it should be attached directly to the window frame (self-tapping screws for metal are excellent for this). Not all installed windows face the street, so if, for example, it is combined with a kitchen or a balcony, then window sills are used instead of low tide.

    Modern plastic windows have a fairly large number of advantages. Their installation is able to provide reliable sealing and thermal protection. In order to save some money for the installation of windows, you can do their own installation. The construction is quite complex, but its installation does not require the use of any specific tools. To get a high-quality result, you will need to study the rules for installing plastic windows, which are contained in GOST 23166-99 and GOST 30971-02.

    Figure 1. Measurements of a plastic window.

    Installation procedure for plastic windows:

    1. First of all, you need to measure the openings.
    2. After that, the old windows are dismantled.
    3. Openings are being prepared.
    4. Installation of new windows is in progress.

    Items that will be needed:

    1. Building level.
    2. Plumb line.
    3. Chisel.
    4. Anchor.
    5. Foam.
    6. Screws.
    7. Perforator.
    8. Primer.
    9. Marker.
    10. Documents that contain standards for the installation of plastic windows.

    Required measurements: sequence of actions

    Visually, the measurement process can be seen in Fig. 1.

    Installation standards state that the first step is to measure a rectangular window. The width of the opening is measured. To do this, you need to determine the distance between the extreme points of the opening. Next, the height of the window opening is measured. To do this, you need to determine the distance between the upper slope and the window sill. To the result, you will need to add the thickness of the window sill.

    Measurements must be made in at least three places for each size, at the extreme points and in the middle. Smooth openings are rare. As a basis, you need to choose the smaller of the values that will be obtained.

    Installation of PVC windows: double-glazed windows, slopes, ebb, fittings.

    Using a plumb line with a medium sharpness of the end, you need to check the vertical curvature of the opening. Using the level, you need to check the horizontal distortions. If there are deviations, then they will need to be indicated on the sketch. The drawing of the frame is a rectangle that is inscribed in the sketch of the opening according to the measurements made. Based on the sketch, you will need to make adjustments to the dimensions of the frame.

    Installation standards include measurements of all openings in the room. The widths of these structures can vary considerably, but the heights must be the same.

    Next, the placement of the window block is determined. It is necessary to mount the structure 2/3 of the wall width from the inside. If you plan to perform wall cladding thermal insulation material on the outside of the house, windows can be installed a little further.

    After that, the external ebb is measured. Most often, you just need to measure the length of the mounted ebb or add 50 mm to the bend to the width of the opening. The width of the ebb is defined as the distance from the mounting plane to the outer part of the wall, the margin for the protrusion (35-40 mm) and for the bend. If thermal insulation is being performed, it is important to consider the thickness of the cladding layer.

    Next, the window sill is measured. The width of the structure is equal to the distance from the inside of the wall to the mounting plane and the size of the overhang. In this case, you need to exclude the width of the window frame from the result. Departure must be calculated based on the fact that the window sill should overlap the heating battery by a third of its size.

    Slopes are measured after the installation of plastic windows, since it is quite difficult to determine the width of the structure.

    How to choose the construction of plastic windows by the fastening method?

    After the measurements of the structure have been made, windows can be purchased. In the selection process, you need to take into account the type of structure fastening system. Installation standards include the following mounting methods:

    1. Installation through the frame in the plane of the window installation.
    2. Fixation with reinforcement, which is pre-fixed to the frame during manufacture.

    The first method will be used most of all. When using this method, you will need to completely remove the window structures from the blind sashes.

    The second method is recommended to be used if self-assembly of plastic windows is performed. In this case, it will be possible to eliminate the likelihood of damage to double-glazed windows and the tightness of the structure during the disassembly-assembly process. However, when installing the entire window block, the structure will weigh much more, so it will be quite difficult to insert the window yourself.

    Back to the table of contents

    How to do the preparatory work?

    When the windows are ordered, the terms of production and delivery should be clarified. It is not recommended to carry out any work until the arrival of the structure.

    First of all, you need to clear a place in front of the windows, and then set aside all the furniture. It is recommended to cover the floor and heating radiators with a special foil.

    Back to the table of contents

    How to prepare a window profile?

    If old windows are installed, they need to be dismantled. To do this, you need to pry off the glazing bead with a chisel, with the help of which the glass unit is fixed, after which it must be pulled out of the groove with weak blows. The first step is to remove the glazing beads, which are located vertically. After that, you need to dismantle the lower and upper. It is recommended to mark the beads. With modern manufacturing, the sizes of such devices may vary, so if they are confused, small gaps may appear.

    The frame must be tilted so that the glass unit falls out of the grooves. After that, it must be set aside against the wall at a slight slope.

    From the canopies of the swing doors, you will need to remove the decorative plugs and unscrew the clamping bolts. If there is a fanlight system, it is necessary to free the upper part of the sash and remove the hook from the lower canopy.

    As a result, only the frame with imposts should remain. In the inner part of the frame, you will need to make holes for the fastening anchors. You need to make at least three attachment points on the sides and two on the ends. To make holes, you need to use metal drills, since there is a metal insert for strength inside the plastic structure. You will need to fasten the windows with anchors with a diameter of 9-10 mm. The drill must be selected in the appropriate size.

    If the windows are attached by the ears, then there is no need to disassemble the structure. You just need to install the mounts in the frame and secure them using screws.

    Back to the table of contents

    How to fill a profile with foam and prepare an opening: installation standards

    To eliminate the possibility of cold bridges, at the point where the profile is attached to the frame, it will be necessary to fill the entire space inside the profile with polyurethane foam. It is recommended to do this a day before installing the windows so that the foam can fill the entire base and harden.

    If you do not need to keep the old frame, it is best to dismantle it. The sashes must be removed from the awnings or pulled out together with the fixing screws. The frame and box of windows need to be sawed off in several places. With the help of a crowbar, it is necessary to pry each part and remove it from the opening. In some cases, it is necessary to first dismantle the nails that hold the window frame.

    The gasket and insulation, which are located under the box, will also need to be dismantled. Using a punch, it will be necessary to remove part of the slopes.

    All garbage must be collected in bags and taken out.

    The ends of the openings must be leveled and cleaned of dust. The surface will need to be primed.

    If the windows are installed in an old wooden building, it is recommended to lay a waterproofing material throughout the opening to prevent moisture from entering the foam layer. If there is a need to strengthen the structure, you can insert a wooden box.

    If earlier you or your acquaintances used the services of firms for the installation of double-glazed windows, then you know that the installation can be normal and in accordance with GOST. The second option is more expensive, but if all the requirements are met, then the quality will be much higher than in the first (for more details about the norms, see GOST 30971-02).

    Consists of several stages.

    Note! The manufacturers do not give a guarantee if the measurements were not carried out by their employees. If not correct installation the windows will soon begin to freeze, and if even the slightest mistake was made in the calculations, then the structure simply will not enter the opening.

    Nevertheless, if you study all the subtleties of the process, then there will be no difficulties during installation. Moreover, you can save a decent amount of money this way.

    Video - Installation of PVC windows in accordance with GOST

    Stage 1. Measurements

    In most apartments, there are openings without a quarter.

    Note! The quarter is a 6 cm wide inner frame (or ¼ brick, hence the name), which prevents the window from falling out and strengthens the structure as a whole.

    If there is no quarter, then the frame will be installed on the anchors, and the foam will be closed with special cover strips. Determining the presence of a quarter is quite simple: if the inner and outer widths of the frame are different, then there is still a quarter.

    1. First, the width of the opening is determined (the distance between the slopes). It is recommended to remove the plaster to make the result more accurate.
    2. Next, the height is measured (the distance between the slope above and the window sill).

    Note! Measurements need to be repeated several times and take the smallest result.

    To determine the width of the window, two mounting gaps are subtracted from the width of the opening. To determine the height, the same two gaps plus the height of the profile for the stand are subtracted from the height of the opening.

    The symmetry and straightness of the opening is checked, for which a mounting level and a plumb line are used. All defects and irregularities must be indicated in the drawing.

    To determine the width of the drainage, add 5 cm for the bend to the already existing drainage. Also, this takes into account the width of the insulation and cladding (subject to the subsequent finishing of the facade).

    The dimensions of the window sill are determined as follows: the size of the departure is added to the width of the opening, the width of the frame is subtracted from the obtained figure. With regards to the departure, then it should overlap the heating radiator by a third.

    Note! are measured at the end of the installation.

    Stage 2. Order

    After measurements, the finished drawing should be referred to the window manufacturer, where all the necessary fittings will be selected. It is worth remembering that installation can be performed in one of two existing ways:

    In the first option, you will have to pull the bag out of the frame, insert it into the opening and install the glass back. In the second case, the entire structure is attached as a whole. Each option has its disadvantages - if you pull out the package, then it can; and vice versa, if the window is put assembled, then it can be damaged due to its heavy weight.

    Stage 3. Preparation

    This stage of installation begins only after the delivery of the ordered windows. First released workplace, all furniture is covered with plastic wrap (there will be a lot of dust).

    Step 1. If required, a double-glazed window is removed from the window. For this, the glazing bead is slightly pry off with a staple and pulled out. First of all, vertical glazing beads are removed, then horizontal ones. They must be numbered, otherwise gaps will form after installation.

    Step 3. The bolts are unscrewed after the plugs are removed from the awnings. The handle is turned to the "ventilation mode" (in the center), the window is slightly opened and removed. Only the frame with imposts remains.

    Note! Mullions are special jumpers intended for dividing the sashes.

    Then you need to make a markup for the anchors and make holes along it - two from the bottom / top and three on each side. This requires anchors ø1 cm and a drill of the required diameter.

    If the material from which the walls are made is loose (for example, cellular concrete), then the fastening is carried out using anchor hangers. The latter should be fixed to the wall and frame with hardened self-tapping screws (eight pieces each).

    Note! To avoid the formation of a thermal bridge in the window sill profile, it should be filled in the day before installation. So the element will not freeze.

    Stage 4. Dismantling work

    This procedure is recommended to be carried out immediately before the installation of a new window. In most cases, the old ones are thrown away, so the structure can be torn out together with the mount, and, if necessary, the frame can be sawed.

    Step 1. First, the sealant and thermal insulation are removed.

    Step 3. The window sill is removed, the cement layer under it is peeled off.

    Step 4. The adjacent surfaces are treated with a primer (by the way, many installers forget about this). In the case of a wooden opening, a layer of waterproofing material is laid around the perimeter.

    Note! Installation can be carried out at a temperature not lower than -15ᵒС. The polyurethane foam must be frost-resistant.

    Stage 5. Installation of a plastic window

    Step 1. First, wooden wedges are placed around the entire perimeter, a window is installed on them (this will make it easier to align the structure), only after that it is attached to the wall. The underlays can be left as additional fasteners.

    Step 2. The absence of a support profile can be considered a gross violation of GOST standards, since it is not only needed for stability, but also makes it possible to install an ebb with a window sill. In the absence of a profile, they are attached directly to the frame, which violates its tightness.

    The correct position of the stand profile is shown in the diagram.

    Step 3. Next, the evenness of the window is checked in three planes, for which a mounting level and a plumb line are used. Typically, traditional bubble levels are not suitable for this due to insufficient measurement accuracy, so it is better to use.

    Step 4. If the window has risen evenly, then it is fixed with anchors. To do this, a wall is drilled with a perforator through pre-prepared holes in the structure (about 6-10 cm). The lower anchors are fixed (not completely), the evenness of the package is checked again, after which the remaining points are attached.

    Note! The final screed is made only after the final check. Do not tighten too much, otherwise the structure will "skew".

    Stage 6. Drainage

    Outside, an outflow is attached to the support profile with self-tapping screws. The joints are carefully sealed with sealant to prevent moisture penetration into the structure.

    The edges of the low tide are recessed into the walls by several centimeters, having previously made recesses using a perforator.

    Note! The bottom slot is also sealed before installation.

    Step 7. Assembling the window

    After fixing the anchors, the glass unit is inserted back.

    Step 1. The glass is inserted and fixed with glazing beads (the latter should snap into place, for which you can lightly tap them with a rubber mallet).

    Step 2. The leaves are opened, their tightness is checked. In the open position, arbitrary opening / closing of the sash cannot occur if the window is installed level.

    Step 3. The assembly seam is closed on the sides. Polyurethane foam will provide high-quality waterproofing and prevent glass fogging. Before and after sealing, the joints are sprayed with water to improve polymerization.

    Note! The seams are filled no more than 90%, otherwise the structure will "lead". If done correctly, the foam will come out a few centimeters after drying.

    Step 4. The perimeter of the window is glued with a special vapor barrier tape, and a material with a foil surface is used from below.

    Stage 8. Installation of the window sill

    Step 1. The sill is trimmed so that it fits into the opening and at the same time rests on the lining profile. There remains a small gap (about 1 cm) for thermal expansion. In the future, the gap is hidden by plastic

    Step 2. Wooden wedges are placed under the windowsill. It needs to be laid with a slight slope towards the room, and then applied with something heavy for a while, until the foam dries. Additionally, the window sill can be fixed with anchor plates.

    conclusions

    Now you know how plastic windows are installed, so you can safely get down to work. The final check of all elements can be carried out only 24 hours after the end of installation (then the foam will already "set").

    The described technology is quite applicable to, although there are also some nuances - such, for example, as installing a parapet to create a partition.

    Find out how to do it right in our new article.

    Hello everyone, dear readers! Since we receive many questions about the installation of windows, we decided to prepare an article on the correct installation of windows in accordance with GOST, so that you yourself can check the quality of work after the installation team. We hope you find this article helpful.

    When we buy a window, we hope that it will serve us for many years. But over time, we notice that first it starts to blow out of it, and then openly blow. The slopes are covered with cracks, black fungus appears in the corners, and in winter flowers freeze on the windowsill.

    As a rule, the whole point is in the wrong installation of the window. In this article, we will talk about the existing installation technology. Let's dwell on the correct installation of the window and consider which materials are better to use.

    The first step is to prepare the opening, clean it of dust and dirt. If the opening has irregularities, then they must be leveled with a putty.

    The sash is removed first. This is done in the following way. It is necessary to open the window, remove the pin from the upper hinge and remove the sash. Then it is removed, glued at the junction with the frame with psul tape and installed back.

    Preparing a balcony block for installation using the technology is similar to preparing a window. The joints of the frames, according to the technological requirements, are glued with psul tape and closed with a joining profile and glued again with tape. Then the frames are connected to each other using a docking profile.

    Correct installation is the key to success

    In accordance with the norms and requirements of GOST, in white PVC windows, the distance between the fasteners should be no more than 700 mm. and 150-180 mm from inner corner frames. The drill diameter should be less than the screw diameter.

    Holes are drilled in the frames for connection. Self-tapping screws are inserted into these holes and the frames are twisted. When fastening the structure with anchor dowels, holes are drilled in the frame in advance. According to GOST, the frame angle should be 150-180 mm. Between fasteners no more than 700 mm. Dowel holes are drilled from the outside of the frame.

    Then the support blocks are placed under the frames. Backing pads can be made of hardwood or plastic. Next, the structure must be inserted into the opening and the frame must be fixed with pillows. Then you need to take a level and use it to align the window structure horizontally, helping with support blocks and pillows.

    After horizontal alignment, the frame must be vertically aligned with the facade using the same level and cushions. From the outside, it is necessary to mark the place where the PSUL tape (vapor-permeable self-expanding sealing tape) will be glued. After marking, the frame is removed.

    If you plan to finish the slopes PVC panels, then it is necessary to click the starting profile for the slopes onto the frame.

    Offset 5 mm. from the marked marks, a psul tape is glued to the outside of the frame. First to the top, then to the sides.

    PSUL- pre-compressed sealing tape - used to connect a vapor-tight water-repellent layer on the outside of the assembly seam.

    On the inside, to protect the assembly seam from moisture, it is necessary to glue a full-butyl vapor barrier inner tape and fix it in the corners. Then the structure must be put back into the opening and finally leveled using pillows and support pads.

    After that, holes are drilled in the wall for dowels and vertical spacers are inserted on the sides of the frame and the window is fixed.

    Once the window is secured, the sash can be hung. The next stage is insulation window seam polyurethane foam. For a good seal, it is best to use professional gun foam with low secondary expansion. Moisten the opening with a spray bottle before applying the foam.

    Shake the foam can thoroughly and fill the openings to 70% of their depth. Seams over 5 mm are filled with foam in several layers.

    If the window is installed in winter, it is necessary to use frost-resistant materials and winter polyurethane foam. In 15-20 minutes after applying the foam, the inner tape must be closed. A metallized vapor barrier tape is installed under the windowsill. On the outside, under the ebb, an external diffusion vapor-permeable tape is installed. The window is installed.

    Finishing the plastic window after installation

    After the plastic window is installed, you can start the process of decorating it, i.e. installation of slopes and ebb tides.

    End plates are put on the previously sawn-off ebb. To reduce the noise from the rain, it is recommended to stick a full butyl tape under the ebb. Then the ebb is attached to the frame with self-tapping screws.

    The window sill is installed as follows. Under the window, special brackets are attached to the screws to simplify the installation of the window sill. The space under the future window sill is slightly foamed with polyurethane foam so that the window sill does not rise. After that, the window sill itself is inserted between the frame and the bracket. Again, with the help of a level and support blocks, the sill is horizontally aligned.

    Note. When leveling the window sill, it is necessary to make a slope of 1-2 degrees towards the room. After installing the window sill, you can start decorating the window opening. For this, special PVC panels are taken that are attached to the initial profile with a clip. The platband is wound around the corner and fixed on the wall with self-tapping screws. From above it is covered with a decorative strip.

    Do not forget to put on the end caps on the windowsill. The seams between the sloping panels, the end plates of the window sill and the ebb are sealed with a neutral silicone sealant.
