• What can be cooked from squid: quick and tasty

    As in a bedroom without a bed, and in almost any other room, be it a living room, a kitchen or even a hallway, you cannot do without a table. Actually, it will not be superfluous in the bedroom either. And it is better to have several of them at once - for different purposes. So that there was somewhere to put a night lamp, where to lay out notes and books, install a laptop, or even just have a snack or even do something more piquant.

    It is not difficult to buy a "desk", there is a wide choice now, but making it yourself is a matter of special refinement. Such a homemade piece of apartment "wardrobe" will be valued much higher by both the owner and the guests, and it will be more pleasant to use it.

    This is not an easy business, but also simple, requiring, however, a certain aesthetic taste and carpentry skills. But do not be afraid and immediately retreat. It is quite possible to cope with this task, the main thing is to imagine what you want.

    Advantages and disadvantages

    A homemade product has both advantages and disadvantages. Among the pluses:

    • Variability. You can do what you really need with your own hands. In all aspects. This is complete freedom in choosing a shape, material, texture, size, design.
    • Saving. Buying furniture in stores will cost significantly more. In fact, sometimes you will have to pay many times more money for the same or even worse quality.
    • Uniqueness. What is done by hand, no one else will do. This will allow you to create a stylish and original, and most importantly, a unique interior almost anywhere - in the country, in an apartment, in your own house.
    • Improving skills. Working on a table is an opportunity to practice your locksmith and carpentry skills, to learn a whole range of new things. These skills will also come in handy when repairing finished store products in the future.

    Having better understood the design of the tables, it will be possible to more professionally approach the selection of such products in retail outlets, or even completely discover the source additional earnings... And in general - you can always help relatives and friends to fix something, bring a fresh idea to the design.

    However, making tables on your own is fraught with certain difficulties. Among them:

    • Time consuming. Expect to spend one or more days at work, or even a week for a large item. The maximum, as the masters admit, is 10 days spent on big table... In fact, you can torment yourself with the material for the entire vacation and achieve very meager results. Therefore, it is better to have a psychological readiness for difficulties at the first experience.

    • Injury hazard. Working, especially with wood, is fraught with splinters. When working with old material (beams, fence boards), you need to be extremely careful. But in some cases, even work gloves may not save you from small cuts. It is better not to do such things for too delicate hands.

    • Manufacturing defects. The house is still not a workshop, and it can be difficult to make some calculations - hence the roughness and irregularities on a seemingly finished and verified product to the smallest detail. and just look out of place. For making an impromptu "bureau" or others more complex than regular table, designs still need skills and experience. It would be time to work it out.

    • I need a tool. If it is not there - everything is simple - you have to buy and master. Time is already money, and there are also additional costs at the first stage. However, in the long term, such an approach will lead to savings - the next table will be made practically for nothing, especially if there are stocks of material in the country.

    • Not suitable for all styles. Carefully experiment with homemade products in modern interiors, for example, high-tech, where metal and technological materials rule the ball. It is difficult to work with them, and wooden products can disrupt the harmony of the room.

    A little advice. If you decide to make a table, and this is your first experience, try to find a good advisor who will support the undertaking psychologically and with the help of his skills. The first steps can be taken together, and then set off on a free "flight".

    Assembly features

    There are many types of tables. The most common are written, computer, toilet (with or without a mirror). Desktops differ depending on whether they are designed for a laptop or made for a desktop computer. In the latter case, you will need a special space for the system unit - it can be installed both under your feet and at eye level.

    Each option has its own advantages that affect the design of the table. In the first case, the system unit will not get in the way at hand, but it will not be very convenient to connect USB ports to it from behind. When designing, leave a significant open space behind the table, do not place it near a wall. If the system unit is located on top, the bureau should be as stable as possible, and it is better to make the tabletop from durable reliable material.

    If there is a goal to design a desktop for a student, including a collapsible structure, it is reasonable to build drawers for notebooks, textbooks and CDs into it. An alternative is a separate shelf above the structure. Drawers can be either pull-out or an open shelf. Backlighting is also relevant.

    Tables can also be angular, transformers; adjustable in height, collapsible, on castors.

    All these are not delights, but practical elements design. Among the more complex options are popular, for example, river tables with a beautiful, often transparent material built into the middle part. Making them will take more time and require higher locksmith skills, however, it will not only allow you to pump your working "skills", but also make a real artifact of the interior. Each of the types of tables has its own assembly features and specifics. Let's consider several of the most popular, simple and affordable options for creating a table that do not require the heights of technical training, but allow you to create high-quality and interesting products that do not look awkward or poor even in a modest interior.

    Instruments

    But before you start carpentry manipulations, you need to decide what and with what you plan to work. You need to get down to business in full "instrumental" readiness. Do not be afraid, nothing rare and particularly complicated will not be required - only an ordinary working arsenal, which is always at hand for a real man. So, let's list the main things. You cannot do without the "classics of the genre" - nails, screws, a screwdriver, a plane, a hammer, glue (instant is also useful), a knife. In some cases, you can use a saw (in nature). Don't forget work gloves and disinfectants. It is imperative to have iodine and cotton swabs with you, unless, of course, the goal is to make a table, and not get sick with tetanus.

    The fact is that wood when sanding ( sandpaper or other device) can be very "unfriendly" and just stand up with a pile. When working with metal, you also need locksmith tools. And in any case, it is better to get an eye protection - a special work mask. For the subsequent processing of the material and its cleaning, a brush and disinfectants, including those against insects, are also useful, especially when using old wood. You can also clean the table with sandpaper.

    And, of course, you need varnish or paint for the final treatment. It may be necessary to process the tabletop with varnish several times (after the first one, the pile will simply rise), which means that it is better to buy it with a margin.

    Popular materials

    One tool is obviously not enough. There is something, but there is nothing to work on yet. The main thing is, of course, the material. Theoretically, a table can be made of anything, but there are some subtleties. The most popular is wood, but it must be dry! If it is not dry, dry it; it will take time, but it’s better for the quality of the product, in this case, do not rush anywhere.

    A table made of dry wood, logs, beams is a wonderful and reliable element of the interior. Nice, functional and inexpensive. With this option, it will be possible to save a lot if there are inexpensive bars or logs at hand - they are stored, for example, in the country. In stores, good wooden tables are definitely not the cheapest.

    Wood is in trend now. This is the main eco-friendly material. It is indispensable in interiors tailored to the natural style. In fact, it is wood in one form or another that is played out in all classic interior styles, up to colonial or modern.

    You can also make a bureau from chipboard. The material is composite and quite affordable. But it has a lot of disadvantages. Particleboard is afraid of moisture - no longer an option for the kitchen. It does not hold nails and screws well - unnecessary difficulties in the work. And in general it is not very environmentally friendly - it is better not to keep too many chipboard products in the apartment. Nevertheless, such a table can be placed, for example, in a house or on a veranda in the country - as an inexpensive, temporary option - for a season, for receiving guests. Inexpensive, simple and moderately aesthetically pleasing, and most importantly - functional.

    Let's clarify that laminated chipboard is also on sale - also wood and shavings, only laminated in a special way - with a polymer film at high temperatures, or even a special varnish that provides increased water resistance. Chipboard is more expensive, but such plates are practically devoid of all the disadvantages of chipboard.

    However, the use of plywood will be no less practical. There are many types of it - there are also moisture resistant ones. This means that the range of applications is wider. In Russia, this material is gaining popularity and, moreover, is massively exported, which indirectly speaks of its quality. Plywood is easy to handle and not too expensive. Of the minuses - its facelessness, boring texture and the accompanying feeling of unnaturalness. In addition, when working with plywood, you need to be very careful about the preparatory stage. You can't do without a sketch, a drawing. You can use both ready-made projects and make it yourself.

    The easiest way is to make a table from a furniture board, for example, ash. It is a little more expensive, but at the same time it will ensure the reliability of the main part of the table - the table top. Less worries with grinding, but at the same time a little less naturalness and texture.

    An extreme alternative is to use natural wood: stumps (by the way, they can be used on their own, but this is already designer chic) or cuts. With them, everything is exactly the opposite. You will have to grind and varnish yourself several times, but in the end you will get a completely unique unique product that all lovers of "natural" design will be able to appreciate, if, of course, after the gatherings, they leave without a few splinters in various places.

    Often, glass or special optical glue, plexiglass glue, which replaces it, is used in the design of the table. You can buy just shock-resistant glass - although it will come out more expensive. It is stylish, effective and safe. This material is optimal for small oval coffee tables, but recently it has been increasingly used by designers and in models with right angles.

    We also add that the legs and base can be metal. You should not be afraid of the combination of wood and metal - with a competent design, it can be not only harmonious, but also very interesting. In modern interiors, loft and hi-tech, sometimes you can't do without it. In addition, metal is effectively combined with glass or its analogs.

    Kitchen table

    This is an absolutely necessary element of the interior. It should be comfortable, comfortable and stable. The surface of the countertop is often of no fundamental importance - usually it is covered with a tablecloth or oilcloth. At self-production it is important to pay attention to the lower parts of the structure so that you can sit at the table without problems, and you always have the opportunity to comfortably place your legs.

    Good dinner table do it yourself can be done in just a few days. According to home “craftsmen”, even very beautiful large models took them no more than 7-10 days. Any material can be used - the easiest way is to work with chipboard, plywood and wood. The main thing is that the beams and boards are even and well polished.

    Carefully study their sizes, bring them to normal if necessary - it is hardly advisable to make the kitchen table more than 80 cm in height. The shape and size of the countertop will depend on the interior and the availability of space in the kitchen.

    The little table, though main element interior in such a room should not take up the entire space. Therefore, especially in small kitchens, it is practical to make it square - you can approach from all sides, and more than four people behind it are still unlikely to fit. In large dining rooms, on the other hand, it is better to stay with the classic rectangular format.

    An oval or round tabletop will also look interesting, especially if you choose beautiful curly legs for it - this, however, will require good carpentry skills.

    When working on a standard wooden model anchor beams or planks with planks at the bottom under the countertop. A practical option with plywood. It is better not to use chipboard - there is always high humidity in the kitchen, and regularly something accidentally spills, and this material, as you know, does not withstand the influence of the water element poorly.

    Interesting idea will create a sliding table. In this case, the mountings must be flexible. But you can do it easier. Still, making a sliding table in the format of one design with your own hands is not a trivial task.

    Therefore, make two small rectangular pieces of the same size. During the day, they can be moved to different parts of the kitchen or even apartment, and before eating together, they can be moved, thereby forming a large table. Highly practical option for small kitchens. When manufacturing, pay attention to the lower parts - partitions and beams should not interfere with each other when connecting tables.

    If the kitchen is very small, you can also make a folding table. Assemble the tabletop and attach a special bracket to the wall. Such a "bureau", as a rule, has only two legs, which means that they should be placed so that at least three people can fit at the same time behind it. Another option is to build a small cabinet for storing dishes and food instead of one of the legs. This is the perfect way to save space.

    When designing a table with a sink, it is better to seek professional help. It will not be difficult to make sketches and the main elements of the structure, but the main thing is that they do not interfere with the pipes under it. So you can't do without a locksmith and plumber.

    At the final stage, it is better to process any table. How to cover it and how to decorate it is a matter of taste. It can be varnished and covered with a tablecloth, or even trimmed with special tiles or even stone. The field for experiments is large.

    Many color palettes, including bright ones, will fit into the interior of the kitchen. Do not be afraid to make the table red, yellow or green - it is fashionable, pleasant and aesthetically pleasing, it will create a good mood when cooking, eating and communicating with households and guests.

    And one more tip for kitchen tables. If you want to design a product with a drawer, make the design of the latter as reliable and sealed as possible so that moisture does not get there. Assemble it from several planks or planks and fasten them securely with special glue or nails. When using plywood, it should ideally not be thicker than 20 mm.

    High-quality sanding and processing is important, including against insects. Remember that the kitchen, as a place for storing food and preparing food, is a favorite environment not only for cockroaches, but also for various woody and moisture-loving insect species, especially in hot climates.

    For computer

    A computer table should be compact and functional. It is always best to design it with a margin. There are two main concepts:

    • Table for a stationary computer. If the technique is powerful, for example, playing, you will have to make the table long and wide enough. The monitor will take up a lot of space on it. A diagonal of 20 inches and more and ample screen rotation means the user is mobile at the table, which means that there should always be a place to put his hands. A separate measurement should be made taking into account the size of the keyboard.

    Other devices should also fit on the table - a mouse, joysticks, gamepads, and even a game role. Part of the space will be taken up by the system unit. It can be installed at the bottom of the table - for this you have to make special overlaps so as not to put the equipment on the floor. The table should not be closed - for a powerful computer, high-quality cooling is very important, and an open space will provide the necessary air circulation.

    At the same time, the design of the table is not of fundamental importance - in any case, it will be overcrowded with technology. The main thing is to use high-quality varnish and paint so that the surface is smooth, it is easy to wipe it and a lot of dust, dangerous to equipment, does not accumulate on it.

    • For laptop. When measuring, keep in mind that both the computer itself and the hands of a person working or playing behind it should fit on it. Often a full-fledged keyboard is separately connected to portable computers, so it is better to use material with a margin. Leave room for the mouse.

    We add that almost any shape of a computer table can be made. Previously, there was an opinion that it should be rectangular, but practical experience has shown that oval tables, in particular for laptops, are very interesting solution... If you attach wheels to them, turning them into an analogue of a coffee table, you can easily move with the computer throughout the room - show videos to friends from convenient angles, or, conversely, if necessary, quickly and quickly immerse yourself in work or correspondence away from prying eyes.

    However, a table with right angles has some specific advantages. It is easier to equip it with drawers and shelves for storing books and disks. Do not forget about the reliability of fastening these structures, since the weight of a music or game collection can reach 7-10 kg.

    Night table

    It is better to make a bedside table extremely compact. Dimensions are not his "strong point", the main thing is the convenience of the form. First of all, adjust the dimensions of the materials to the height of the bed. It is better to make it flush with the level of the mattress, but it's okay if it gets lower. A high bedside table is not too impractical, although it is found as an example in some design schools. If aesthetic qualities are more important to you, it is reasonable to experiment in this direction. In this case, you can choose any shape - from oval to rectangular and square.

    The design concept should be included in the composition of the bedroom interior. For classic styles of materials, it is better to choose wood. Moreover, in the case of retro and historical styles, the more authentic it is, the better. If you have skills in artistic carving, then in this case, it's time to use them. In modern interiors, a product made of wood will also be relevant - the texture, if necessary, will be hidden under varnish, paint or a tablecloth. The color scheme depends on the color of the room. The color should be in harmony with the bed, bedding, and ideally with the floor and ceiling. Radical contrasts are out of place here.

    When working on a bedside table, special attention should be paid to its stability. The leg can be made large. If there are several of them, they should turn out to be absolutely identical. Please note that not only do they put an alarm clock or a desk book on the night table, but sometimes they lean on their hands - it should withstand such loads without problems. The table can also be equipped with several drawers, or, if the level of technical skill or the specificity of the material does not allow, an open shelf.

    Coffee table

    In many houses and apartments, the habit of laying out newspapers and magazines on the coffee table has already become a thing of the past. They were replaced by new means of communication - various gadgets - from iPhones to laptops. But they also need to be placed somewhere, even if just put on charge. Before making such a piece of furniture, it is better to immediately decide on its functionality.

    The main thing is to learn one simple truth: no one works for magazine "bureaus" - at best they earn extra money, so they should be short, aesthetic and comfortable for a relaxed pastime. And it is aesthetics that comes first. Your guests will remember, first of all, the design and material of the table. Another point is functionality. It is good if such a table has a space under the table top where you can put something.

    So, it is better to take chipboard or boards as materials. They should be assembled on dowels with the utmost, maximum accuracy - so that the joints of the elements are not visible.

    An additional crossbar will make the table more stable and reliable. If the structure contains metal (legs), you will need welding machine... A rectangular metal element can be placed in the base. Do not forget to reinforce the sides in the same way. A very common option with glass (or transparent glue). Such tables are often found in offices, waiting rooms and other "guest" facilities. However, as the experience of many designers shows, it fits well into home interiors.

    When manufacturing, it is important to pay attention to the wooden or metal base - it will be visible under the glass! Cruciform shapes work well. Do not forget that glass can be used simply as an additional component. For example, cover part of a classic wooden table with it. It is advisable to equip the resulting lightweight interior object with wheels. Such "mini-transport" will be especially relevant in a large living room, as well as in an apartment where there are always many children (then, however, you should not experiment with glass once again). It is a good and useful item for fun and relaxation.

    But a mobile table should be lightweight. Massive - it is better not to equip with this "bonus", but to make it from durable heavy overall boards. He will land the interior, make it more collected.

    There is also an option with a transforming table. It is practical, but not always aesthetic. However, if you make a double (in height) base, then it can even be used as a conventional easel. We add that coffee tables, as a rule, still small and usually designed for one, maximum, four people. The selection of sizes is purely individual. The main thing is only the height - it can be varied from 40 to 60-80 cm. Do not forget that in some situations the product can also be used as a bookcase in combination - for this you will need to make shelves and compartments that correspond to your needs.

    With regard to the color scheme, a contrast between the table top and the legs is acceptable. The combination of metal and wood looks good. You can apply a drawing or make an unusual ornament on the surface, but it's easier to just cover it with something - you don't have to repaint the products every time you change your mood and taste. And one more thing - about the form. Magazine furniture can be either round or rectangular-square - a matter of taste. Round products are used a little more often, since they are safer and more democratic.

    The knights of King Arthur, in the end, also sat at a round table, so in the living room, the place for receiving and meeting guests, each of whom often wants to show their individuality and initiative, it is better to do without seats at the head of the table and other patriarchal delights, and for children are safer - they will not be hit again.

    Cottage furniture

    A holiday in nature is a wonderful pastime, however, in order to really have a good rest and sit in a company, you need a high-quality and comfortable table. Such furniture is very specific. On the one hand, it must withstand high humidity - if it stands outdoors in the rain, on the other hand, it is very unpretentious in terms of aesthetic qualities and always tends to be natural. In nature, a glass table or an expensive metal product will be inappropriate.

    So, before you start making such furniture, you need to decide on important point: where it will stand and how mobile it should be. There are essentially two options:

    • Fixed outdoor table. Usually, such structures are placed near the garden house or at a distance from it in comfortable places for rest - under an apple tree or other fruit tree... The main thing is that such an exterior object should be strong and reliable, as firmly as possible on its “feet”. It is reasonable in some cases even to dig the legs into the ground. The surface can be any, but wood is preferred.

    The main thing is to remove lint and shavings from it, as they can lead to unpleasant and deep injuries or just splinters. Please note that the surface must be moisture resistant - the table will regularly get wet in the rain. In case of heavy rainfall or just long absence in the country, it is better to cover it with something, say, an oilcloth. This will not save you from high humidity, but it will protect you from direct contact with water.

    • Movable table in a country house. This is usually a more compact option. It can be used indoors, out on the veranda, or open air... The main emphasis in self-production is best done on the use of lightweight materials so that it can be carried.

    The wheels are unlikely to help much (the landscape in the country is not always even), although they can also be attached, but this will make the structure less stable. A good bonus would be the ability to expand or collect the table. For the winter season, such a table can be folded down and removed to the attic so that it does not deteriorate.

    What is the best table for giving? Pallets, boards, old logs can come in handy, for example, from an already unnecessary or dilapidated fence, partitions from boxes, an old car tire, and whatever. It is best not to use glass or overuse metal. The latter tends to rust: this is not so scary, but aesthetically it can spoil all natural harmony, if, of course, there is no desire to create a post-apocalypse entourage.

    It is better to fasten boards for countertops in the country with the help of strips from below. There is also an option with gluing - this is a more time-consuming technology; after processing, you will need to pull off the boards and keep them in this state for about a day. If the material is old, it is better to arrange it according to color, to align it stylistically according to color.

    Light - to light, dark - to dark, with interweaving of color contrasts closer to the center. Don't strive for perfection with constant alignments - naturalness doesn't have to be symmetrical. The next step is to sand the surface. Better to do this with sandpaper.

    When working with legs, the main thing is to make them the same length - otherwise there will be little pleasant eating at such a table. It is important that their surfaces are not beveled, but even. However, if you dig the legs into the ground, and there is no saw at hand, you can always compensate for a couple of centimeters, but only as a last resort.

    Then, after completing the design, the tabletop must be varnished. After the first time, the pile will probably rise, so we process it twice. For reliability in the lower part, at the final stage, you can make an additional support-mount. It will make the structure more stable and allow you to comfortably position your legs.

    In continuation of the work, you can also attach benches to the table - make them part of a single structure. It is better to connect the bench to the table with special wooden planks using nails or long hairpins. Washers and nuts are also required for reliability. The seats themselves are made according to a similar principle, only their height, of course, is lower than the table, and the mounts should be even more reliable - it is better to make cruciform.

    The final stage is painting. Gray, brown, natural tones look good. Bright colors look too eclectic, unless you have a modern design of a country house, and instead of trees - artificial vegetation.

    And a few more words about sizes. As a rule, country tables are long, but not too wide - this makes it easier and more convenient to approach them. Do not place them too close to bushes, especially thorny bushes, gooseberries or cherries, it will be painful to approach them.

    The distance from the fruit must also be reasonable, otherwise you can repeat Newton's experiment, but do it unsuccessfully. The height of the country tables, as a rule, is made average, since both adults and children usually sit at them. So with built-in seats, it is better not to overstate the structure unnecessarily.

    How to organize lighting

    This question is relevant both for small bedside tables and for work items on which a computer is installed. On the night "bureau" you can put a small floor lamp, it is reasonable to stretch the wire with the switch to the bed, so that every time you do not reach for the table and do not drop the lamp in the dark. On a desktop, it makes sense to use a desk lamp as well, but as we experiment with homemade designs, other more interesting possibilities emerge.

    If you make a small "superstructure" above the table from several panels - plywood and chipboard, securely fasten them with nails, then under them you can install an ordinary light bulb, or better - an LED. It will be more efficient to use two or three small point LEDs. They will provide high quality and uniform illumination.

    A child who studies at the table, and an adult in the process of work, will be able to read without problems at any time. To work at a computer (so that the light does not shade the screen), it will be possible to turn on only one point of illumination, which is reasonable to place a little to the side - it will become a source of dim light.

    Among modern design concepts, there are also options for lighting tables from below, through the structure of the tabletop, but you can independently cope with such a difficult " terms of reference»Without a qualified electrician it will be problematic, and the practical benefits of such structures leave much to be desired.

    The choice of light temperature for almost any table design is highly individual and depends rather on the place of use. In classic small bedrooms, warm color combinations will be relevant.

    On the contrary, cold shades will fit into the interior of the kitchen more harmoniously. Much also depends on the style. High-tech, for example, is often sharpened precisely for a cool range. On the contrary, it is better to place accents in the classics, colonial style and some variations of the loft on the warm segment.

    Forms

    The table can be made absolutely any, completely carved-cut, but the design has already developed several classic and practical ideas of the form. Among them:

    • Rectangular. It was these tables that were popular in almost all historical eras... In Russia, boyars gathered for them, they served as a place for peasants to eat in huts and as the basis of tavern life.

    In Soviet times, they were slightly pushed aside by other forms - square ones, designed to minimize living space as such. Now rectangular tables are no longer associated with the ideas of domination and patriarchy, but have retained their immanent massiveness and firmness. Most often used in large rooms. Suitable for a summer residence, living room, spacious kitchen.

    • Square. Products of this shape allow you to perfectly organize the space. Their use is reasonable and economical. In addition, it is always possible to move such tables. Folding models are often found, which turn from square to rectangular.

    It is not easy to make such a product on your own. However, you can simply make two identical tables. Let us clarify that in terms of a home-made approach, it is square and rectangular tables that are suitable for the "test of the pen" of novice craftsmen. And it's easy to make, and the field for experiments is wide.

    • Rounded. A round or oval piece of furniture is suitable as a coffee table or night table. This is the ideal shape for apartments in which families with children live, as it avoids unpleasant collisions with sharp corners. Technically, making them is more difficult, but the most unexpected items can always come to the rescue, for example, car tires.

    • Design forms. The edges of the tables do not have to be straight. Sometimes they are made curved. Products can be rounded on one side, with right angles on the other. Triangular models are becoming more and more common.

    For example, in the kitchen, a rectangular table will look advantageous in relation to the seating areas and rounded towards the sink and cabinets. Guests will be able to sit comfortably, and the hostess or host, treating them, will not constantly hit the corners. Naturally, higher technical skills are required to manufacture such models. The main challenge will be how to cut a suitable shape. This also imposes some restrictions on the materials used - beams, boards and logs are technically inapplicable in many such structures.

    How to make from scrap materials

    Sometimes imagination is difficult to contain, then very interesting versions of improvised "desks" are born that can be used both outdoors and in modern high-tech interiors and not only - even at work. It is not difficult, for example, to make a table from a car wheel, or rather, tires. Attach chipboard to it on one side - a little less than the radius, and on the other - legs. You can decorate the sides and lid to your liking.

    If you pull the table with fibers or ropes, you will also get an ottoman - two in one at once. Stock up on liquid nails to create more effective bindings. The cover of such furniture can be made removable and subsequently stored in the "wheel" whatever your heart desires. With a competent approach, such a secret will become a mini-safe at all, where it will be possible to protect things at least from children, and not every hapless thief who broke into your home will guess about such a little trick.

    No one bothers to collect old boxes into a useful structure: you get a kind of interesting labyrinth table. However, here you need to be very careful - many craftsmen who have laid out their creations from boxes on the Internet have got something that looks more like a trash can. To avoid this, do not leave too much free space in the center of the structure.

    Another, perhaps even more extreme, option is designing a table based on an old suitcase. Such Soviet colossus are waiting for their disposal on many balconies of the country, and perhaps right now their finest hour has come. Just do not rely in the literal sense of the word on the exceptional Soviet quality - it is better to reinforce the product with sheets of, say, plywood. You will need more legs and wheels.

    Disinfect the product before starting work. At the final stage, it can be varnished, painted or pasted over with a cloth. This option is suitable for colonial and various retro styles, and in general it will look at least original in any room. Old frames can also be used with benefit in the work on the table - the main thing is to strengthen them well. With adequate decoration, you can achieve all the benefits of the pop art style effect.

    A loft-style pallet table will decorate almost any interior of a modern living room. You can also make an interior object from pallets, from an old window sill or countertop (with an antique effect), from ceramic tiles, professional pipes. A table from a profile or water pipe and is completely a fashionable idea. Anyway, almost anything is suitable for creating creative furniture: from old chests and barrels to mirrors, rolls of wallpaper and batteries - the main thing is to trust your imagination, sense of style and technical skills in working with materials and tools.

    Beautiful ideas for placement in the interior

    And finally, consider a few interesting examples homemade tables in various interiors... Let's start with the dacha. At a distance of several meters from the landings, a large table made of varnished boards will successfully fit in. Light or dark brown color will be in perfect harmony with greens. We divide the tabletop into five parts according to the narrow part (according to the number of boards). Having fastened them from below, we will preserve the effect of naturalness and naturalness.

    From below, the table will also be fastened with two overlaps, on which it will be convenient to put your feet. The benches are also attached to the table (each consists of three boards). The advantageous design is underlined by additional neat carvings on the sidewalls. As a result, we have in front of us almost an example of the still pre-revolutionary tsarist Russian style of the mid-19th century, or even Art Nouveau (how to look).

    It was in this environment that connoisseurs of rural idyll met guests at the beginning of the 20th century, organized creative meetings, exhibitions and even theatrical performances. Such a table does not look old-fashioned, it seems to continue the interior of the classic country house where, at a minimum, glass and metal.

    Another example. River table for the living room. The easiest way to make a transformer with your own hands is to make an imitation of it, that is, do not use a plug-in structure in your work, but paint the product accordingly. In fact, this is a classic wooden table with an embossed surface that fits well next to a sofa or armchairs.

    It is better to choose the color depending on the style of the room. Light wood will be in harmony with light light tones and vice versa. The painted part (blue or its shades) should be in harmony with the chandelier or ceiling. Low vases with flowers or greenery will look beautiful on such a table. The simpler the design of such a table, the better - it can be used both as a coffee table and as a dining table.

    The next idea - for a corner computer table - is also quite real for doing it yourself. We will make the corner parts rectangular, and the protruding part of an arbitrary, but wide and comfortable shape, so that you can put your hands on it, put the keyboard. We use plywood or chipboard from materials.

    Plain wood will do as well as old countertops, but the shape will be a little more difficult to work with. If, nevertheless, a "difficult" material is chosen, pay attention to varnishing and painting, it is better to pay special attention to these stages of work.

    We use uniform colors without overusing light shades. In our example, the table will be brown. However, for perfection design idea the color of the table should be harmonized with the color of the monitor, keyboard and system unit.

    Among the bedside tables, a two-level option will be practical and easy to manufacture. It is easier to make it rectangular, but if skills permit, it is better still round. The lower overlap is placed at the level of 10-15 cm from the floor, the upper one - at the level of the mattress height.

    For a bedroom decorated in dark colors, a soft dark texture is suitable. The table can even be painted black. Thus, it will become a color spot in the room, giving an additional contrast to the bed and the floor. A pleasant visual effect will appear if you place a decanter of water and a glass on it.

    And the last example is a compact small night office with two drawers. In this case, we select dark colors... The wood will need to be well processed and varnished. The design of the drawers is as simple as possible.

    However, if you prepare everything in advance necessary materials and it will not be difficult at all to make this piece of furniture fittings.

    So let's get started. In this article, we will describe in detail the process of making a dressing table. Figure 1 shows how our table will look like.

    Materials, tools, preparation for assembly

    As tools we need: an electric drill or a screwdriver; electric jigsaw; centimeter for measurements; a regular ruler to mark straight lines; wood drills (5 and 8 mm in diameter, respectively); a screwdriver with a bit for Euro screws; iron; simple pencil; hammer; knife; sandpaper.

    The following accessories are useful: a set of Euro screws; self-tapping screws; roller guides (for pull-out drawers); handles with which we will equip the boxes; adhesive melamine edging; furniture corners; mount for mirrors.

    The body of the dressing table will be made of laminated chipboard, and the back wall of the product and the bottom of the drawers will be made of fiberboard. These are cheap and affordable materials that can be easily processed.

    You can either cut the sheet into parts yourself, or order the necessary elements from the sawing company. Most often, this service can be found in regular building materials stores.

    The following parts are required for our dressing table (size is in millimeters):

    • FROM chipboard: upper part (table cover) (450 x 1000); side panel (300 x 630); side parts of the bedside table (2 pieces; 350 x 614); tsar (340 x 340); small shelf located in front of the mirror (110 x 600); side supports for the shelf (2 pieces; 100 x 80); mirror panel (600 x 1050); the bottom of the bedside table (350 x 350); plank in the curbstone (2 pieces; 80 x 318); drawer fronts (4 pieces; 343 x 149); sides of drawers (8 pieces; 300 x 100); front and back of drawers (8 pieces; 259 x 100).
    • Fibreboard: bedside table wall (345 x 625); the bottoms of the boxes (4 pieces; 289 x 297).

    In picture # 2 you can see how the dressing table cover should be.

    Figure # 3 shows what one of the sides looks like (right).

    Carefully cut out parts of this shape with a jigsaw, in accordance with the indicated dimensions.

    The ends of the elements must be coated with glue and closed with edging.

    The vanity mirror will measure 500mm x 850mm.

    The back panel for him is best cut out by attaching the mirror itself to the chipboard. The frame on the side and top parts of the mirror must be at least 50 mm.

    Thus, having prepared all the necessary parts, tools and accessories, you can start assembling.

    Assembling the product

    Cover all edges of the elements with an adhesive melamine edging. To do this, apply the edge to the ends and iron it with a well-heated iron. We polish all edges with sandpaper.

    Now we need to take care of the design of the drawers.

    Mark the roller guides from the top of the side panel. Next, we drill holes for attaching these same guides and attach them with 4 x 16 screws, retreating from the side panel by 5 millimeters. Figure 4 shows how the holes for the confirmations should be located.

    After that, we assemble the boxes themselves with the help of self-tapping screws, nailing sheets of fiberboard to their bottom. The left and right guides are attached with the same screws.

    We fasten the side parts of the bedside table with Euro screws with the bottom and strips. Recall that the back wall is a fiberboard sheet. We fasten the bedside table to the table cover with self-tapping screws 4 x 25.

    We fix the facades with self-tapping screws on the front walls of the boxes and screw the handles to them.

    The main structure is assembled, now pay attention to figure 5. It shows how the countertop, the side right wall and the drawer side are connected to each other. We use confirmations and metal corners for fastening.

    Now it remains for us to add to overall design mirror pre-mounted in the rear panel with a screwed shelf.

    The upper part with a mirror is attached to the tabletop (from the bottom through and through) through the small sidewalls of the shelf using self-tapping screws.

    That's all, actually! Our dressing table is ready! As you have already noticed, this is a very original and elegant model that will take its rightful place in your bedroom and will definitely please your beloved.

    With your own hands? What models can be done at home? How to make a dressing table not just a functional item, but also a bedroom decoration.

    Dressing table- the subject is optional, but as practice shows, it is necessary. Sometimes it turns into a shelf, fixed under the mirror, and is placed not in the bedroom, but in the bathroom or hallway, but in some form it still exists.

    And if there is no desire or opportunity to purchase a finished item in the store, you can make a dressing table with your own hands.

    Structurally, this object is not complicated at all. In the very simple version this is a really ordinary table of the required dimensions, and not necessarily - the latter can be installed on the wall. In more complex designs, drawers are provided. Home craftsmen easily cut out products with complex configurations with side tables, drawers and shelves.

    The table design can be developed independently, or, if there is no such experience, you can use ready-made drawings on furniture sites and forums. Among the countless models, there is sure to be a product with suitable dimensions.

    To bring the idea to life, you will need some materials and tools.

    Materials:

    • Chipboard - or laminated chipboard, the undisputed leader in home furniture production, since it has a minimum weight, is affordable and easy to process. Sheets with a thickness of 16 mm are selected;
    • MDF is a more expensive option, but also more effective and durable;
    • tree - it is worth taking on only if you have experience. Although this material is also very easy to process, and wood, for example, pine, is inexpensive, but the furniture in the bedroom, especially the dressing table, should not only be solidly made, but also excellently finished. And for this you need at least a milling machine;
    • Fiberboard or plywood for the bottom of the boxes and the back of the product.

    Fasteners:

    • confirmations 5 * 70 mm - universal furniture mount. It is recommended to purchase with a margin;
    • self-tapping screws 4 * 16 and 4 * 25 mm;
    • roller guides for drawers. If the device is supposed to have shelves, then these parts will not be needed;
    • metal furniture corners;
    • fittings for drawers and doors;
    • glue-based finishing edge - the easiest to fix, as well as a soft edging for the table top.

    Instruments:

    • a screwdriver or drill, if the necessary attachments are available;
    • electric jigsaw for cutting chipboard sheets;
    • drills 5 and 8 mm in diameter;
    • tape measure and building corner;
    • sandpaper;
    • screwdriver for confirmations - has a specific hexagonal shape, and, unfortunately, is not universal. Often the confirmer requires a special, only its own screwdriver, which is usually offered in the kit. This question should be clarified with the seller.

    Besides, some additional accessories or parts may be needed: mirror, LED strip, plastic or glass inserts for sashes, decorative panels, etc.

    Do it yourself!

    The most an important condition for obtaining a good result is the thoroughness of the execution... Details, especially for a simple model, are easy to manufacture. But the fit and finish of edges and edging takes both neatness and patience.

    The second condition is to follow the chosen project... The inclusion of a new element in the design, replacement of material, and even the use of other fittings will require any additional steps. And if, with a lot of experience, a change in design does not cause difficulties, then without it, it turns the manufacture of furniture into an endless process of fitting one part to another.

    No mirror

    Before choosing a project, you need to accurately determine the dimensions of the future furniture and the installation location. Create or select finished project and transfer every detail of the product to paper or cardboard.

    1. Apply on chipboard sheets ready-made templates, and cuts out the corresponding details. Hardware stores often offer a sheet-cutting service, which is recommended. Cutting the material with an electric jigsaw cannot be compared with the work of professional equipment: in this case, the cut will be much cleaner, and the workpieces will be accurate.
    2. If the design of the selected model does not include elements that are complex in shape, then the work can be done by hand without having much experience.
    3. The ends of all parts are cleaned with sandpaper. This may cause small chips to form: this is not a problem, since the damage will be covered with the end tape.
    4. The ends are primed twice to strengthen the edge - you can use Moment glue. Then a soft edging is put on the tabletop, and the ends are pasted over with melamine edging. The latter is glued to the edge and smoothed with a heated iron.
    5. The frame of the table is assembled first: table top, side racks or support legs, back wall. For fastening, holes are drilled in the appropriate places, then the parts are fixed with confirmations and the corners are checked using a building angle. If the structure is assembled correctly, then the confirmations are tightened with a key.
    6. For the reliability of fastening the sidewalls and support legs, they are duplicated with a metal corner.
    7. The boxes are assembled: the side parts are drilled into the plane, the back and front parts are drilled into the butt. Then the product is assembled for confirmation, checked and tightened with a screwdriver. The plywood bottom is fixed with small studs.
    8. The guide - the box part is fixed to the sidewalls with self-tapping screws. To the sides of the curbstone or table - the corresponding counterpart. The box is threaded into the guides.
    9. Holes for handles are drilled on the facades and fittings are fixed.
    10. If the project has a cabinet with doors, then a 35 mm Forstner drill is needed to install the overhead hinges. With a drill, holes are made under the hinges with a depth of 12.5 mm, the hinges are fixed with screws. The hinges are fixed to the sash with self-tapping screws.

    Diy scheme for creating a dressing table without a mirror in the bedroom

    With mirror

    The dressing table is often done without a mirror. In this case, either a desktop or wall-mounted product is used. The latter option is, of course, more efficient. But making your own model with a mirror is also quite possible.

    Two methods are used.

    1. The back wall is cut out not from fiberboard, but from chipboard, and together with the base for the mirror. The latter can be a functional device, or it can include a decorative frame of complex shape. The purchased mirror is fixed to the base with plastic holders or glue. You can use double-sided tape.
    2. A less aesthetic option is used in cases where there was no mirror in the original project. In this case, the chipboard structure under it is fixed on wooden guides, and the latter are screwed to the ends of the table. It is desirable to provide such a shape of the base so that it covers the guides.

    The following two videos will help you create a do-it-yourself dressing table with a mirror:

    And the last part of the video tutorial:

    For girl

    The design does not differ from the "adult" one: a table with or without drawers, with or without a curbstone, and so on. The dimensions of the product are, of course, much smaller. As a rule, simple models are made in the nursery, since it does not require an elegant shape, but the stability of the structure and ease of use.

    The main thing in children's furniture is design. But besides staining in bright shades or decorating surfaces with overhead plastic panels, you can do something else: the original design of the mirror.

    The most popular are the crown and cat face. The manufacturing technology is the same here, only the template is different.

    1. A mirror is laid on a sheet of plywood or fiberboard, circle it, then retreat from the line outward by 1 cm, and inward by 2-3 cm, depending on how wide the frame they want to get.
    2. The contours are modified accordingly. For example, they draw ears for a cat's face and antennae, but in such a way that the inner size of the frame does not change.
    3. The workpiece is cut out of plywood, painted in desired color... If necessary, cut out additional parts from plywood - a bow, an earring, the same antennae.
    4. The mirror is fixed to a chipboard base with holders or glue. Then the frame and additional parts are glued to liquid nails.

    The undoubted advantage of such a performance is its uniqueness.

    DIY dressing table for girls

    Backlit

    It can perform 2 functions: only decorative or only functional. In the first case, you can use led strip, even colored ones. They are placed along the edge of the table top, along the legs or at the bottom of the cabinet. It is very simple to mount such lighting: the possible cutting and connection points are indicated on the tape. The only thing that is important to remember is that the tape requires a 12 V supply, therefore it is connected to the network via a power supply.

    In the second case, more intense lighting is required., and most importantly - more uniform, since the quality of the make-up depends on it.

    The most popular way is to mount an illuminated mirror frame.

    1. From wooden planks with a thickness of 20-25 mm and a width of about 90 mm, the main frame is assembled on glue according to the dimensions of the mirror. The ends are cut at 45 degrees and additionally fixed with metal corners.
    2. Holes are drilled in the frame for bulb holders. From thinner rivers, a front frame is glued together, which will block the backlight wires.
    3. Then the furniture corners are fixed to the base, on which the mirror is laid. The cartridges are connected in parallel.
    4. The assembled structure is painted in the desired color, the power cord is led out through a drilled hole.
    5. Screw in the bulbs and check the operation of the product. If you wish, you can cover the entire structure from the back with a sheet of plywood.

    In the next video, the presenter will talk about that. how to make a do-it-yourself illuminated dressing table:
